… but the flu is going around, so who knows, a seat or two at our Thursday panel on disruption in real estate may open up.

That is terrible! Shame on me!

But truthfully, I went to the doctor today and (a) I do not have the flu but (b) everyone else does. Seriously, it’s the worst flu season ever STILL!

We are so excited about this Disruption event, brought to you by the Dallas Builders Association, and I knew it would fill up fast. Happy to report it is sold-out. But we’ll be live-streaming on Facebook, so if you do get the flu, or could not get a ticket, you can still check us out.

Also, I am not going to waste time rattling off bios: everyone can just read them here. Reading the bios here on CandysDirt.com saves us valuable debate time! And debate we will!

Alex Doubet | Chief Executive Officer DOOR

Alex began his career at US Road Sports (USRS) an endurance event company that owned over two dozen events with over 120,000 participants across the country. USRS was sold to Life Time Fitness in the beginning of 2014. At USRS, Alex was the Director of Finance. Subsequent to USRS, Alex was the Chief Operating Officer and Junior Partner of Advantix Marketing, a search engine marketing and optimization agency and a member of the 2015 Inc. 5000 list. Throughout his career, Alex has bought and sold houses and multifamily apartment complexes. He has consistently been disappointed by how expensive the transaction costs were when selling real estate, and is building a better, more cost-effective service at Door. Alex is a graduate of Harvard University with an AB in history and a secondary concentration in Economics.

Swathy Prithivi | General Manager of Opendoor Dallas-Fort Worth

Swathy Prithivi is General Manager of Opendoor Dallas-Forth Worth. Opendoor launched in 2014 and is the pioneer and market leader of the ‘iBuyer’ category. Opendoor came to the DFW market in February 2015, and since then, they’ve grown to considerable marketshare, and each month, Opendoor has between 300-600 homes on the market in the Metroplex. Opendoor employs nearly 150 people in DFW, has paid north of $21M in commissions to local real estate agents, and works very closely with national and regional homebuilders via their ‘Trade-up’ program that allows people to sell their home to Opendoor and eliminate all contingencies in order to move into their brand new build.

Swathy joined Opendoor in 2017 in the role of City Launcher, where she led Opendoor’s growth into new markets. She now leads the large DFW team and operation, which is the second biggest in the nation. She was previously at Uber, where she wore a variety of hats as one of the first 100 employees — from running operations in the San Francisco Bay Area, and launching Uber’s operations in India, Israel, and Poland, to incubating and scaling UberEATS. She received a Masters degree in Marketing from Northwestern / Kellogg and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Janelle Alcantara | Galaxy Modern

Realtors and founder of Galaxy Modern, a real estate brand dedicated to modern architecture.  She was invited to participate on this panel because her creative approach to real estate offers innovative services that help to promote new home building in Dallas. Although her practice services a very niche market, she is consistently recognized as a Top Producer within her 400 agent company and has been named one of Dallas’ Best Real Estate Agents by D Magazine year over year.

She helped write the 2008 green update to North Texas Multiple Listing Service to help properties be better marketed, appraised, and rewarded by the marketplace.
