RichardsonEvery Thursday, we bring you our pick of the hottest North Texas properties in our CandysDirt.com Open Houses of the Week. These are the places you don’t want to miss that weekend.

This week, our houses range in price from $239,000 to $670,000, and can all be found in Richardson. Which ones will you visit?

Four-Bedroom Traditional in Gated Community

Open house: Saturday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath home was custom built on a huge lot overlooking a Breckinridge Park, right in the gated community of the Hills of Breckinridge.

Listing agent Christie Cannon with Keller Williams Frisco said the 4,179 square foot home located at 9 Lochleven features a “sought-after floorplan featuring a guest suite and executive study on the first floor,” as well as a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, gas cooktop, and two pantries.

And can we talk about the master suite, which includes a fireplace and an en-suite with a full bath?

Upstairs, a game room, media room, and more oversized bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms make this home a perfect family home.

Outside, a covered patio with outdoor kitchen overlooks a huge backyard that’s just begging for a pool.

The Richardson home is listed for $670,000.

Midcentury Cottage On a Corner Lot

Open houses: Friday, Jan. 11 through Sunday, Jan. 13, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Listed by Julie Winter with OpenDoor, this three bedroom, two bath Midcentury Cottage at 313 Wake Dr., built in 1962 sits on a corner lot, and really gives a lot of bang for its buck.

It’s clearly been well-maintained, and the open layout is great for a new buyer with a family, with a large kitchen and plenty of ability to be part of the action while pulling together dinner. The living room boasts a fireplace, to boot, which sounds wonderful for chilly winters.

And did we mention it had a pool?

The home is listed for $239,000.

Splurge Becomes a Steal

Open house: Saturday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In 2017, we wrote about this house at 1606 Cheyenne Dr. as a splurge in our then-new Splurge Vs. Steal series.

Then, it was listed for $775,000. But Realtor Anne Westphal with Ebby Halliday 190-Richardson alerted us to the fact that it was on the market, and the price was reduced – to $625,000, turning our splurge into a steal, since it still has all the great qualities we wrote about in 2017.

As you may recall, the home was renovated with a contemporary design, with the owner taking a 2,300 square foot house and adding more than 1,300 square feet and a garage. The finished home has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and 3,665 square feet on one story.

It has a kosher kitchen with tons of prep space, two dishwashers, a Wolf range, and pot filler.

Outside, it has a patio and a swimming pool.
