Tuscan Villa

Let’s talk turkey. Not the bird, the truth. We’ll get to the bird later! There are gorgeous luxury homes all over Dallas. But, you’ve never seen one like this Tuscan Villa at 10739 Bridge Hollow Court in the Creeks of Preston Hollow. I say this with some degree of authority because although by day I stage homes in all price ranges, my nights are spent trolling multi-million dollar homes that I hope you will find interesting.

This one is beyond exceptional. I try hard to find fault with these huge homes, but I cannot see a single thing that’s been overlooked in this masterpiece.

So, I was a bit surprised to discover that even this luxury home has been enhanced recently, as odd as that may seem. But, every owner puts their stamp on a property regardless of how amazing it is when they make the purchase.

Tuscan Villa

This Tuscan villa was built by the well-respected firm of Calais Custom Homes. They have been in business since 1986 and are one of the top go-to builders in North Texas for sizable luxury properties. Finished in 2016, it had everything you’d expect to find in a luxury home and more. Set on over an acre of lush landscaping, it has three levels (yes, there is an elevator), seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, two powder baths, two kitchens, a library, a study, a proper wine cellar, a huge media room, a billiards room, a gym, a sauna with a tanning room, and a hair salon. Whew! Those enhancements I mentioned were truly a personal aesthetic, and they are fabulous!

Brad Oellermann, President of Crescent Estates, entered the picture to interpret the owner’s vision and add those touches that would make it their home. The great room vaulted ceiling was clad in dark wood, and a stone-like treatment was given to the walls just below it. The result is this nothing less than spectacular and creates a visual layer of warmth and texture. It also draws attention to the architectural detail of both sets of windows. I absolutely love it!
Tuscan VillaWhat struck me, of course as we head into a major holiday, is this room is perfect for hosting an enormous Thanksgiving feast. You can move the sofas out of the way and add tables down the center of the room to fit 200 family and friends, easily. Of course, you’d use a caterer because they did not equip this Tuscan villa with a catering kitchen so you could roast your own turkey!

The other enhancement I want to point out is in the kitchen. Again, it was lovely when the present owners purchased this Tuscan villa. However, when they added a solid wall of white Macabus quartzite behind the range, a beautiful kitchen became a total jaw-dropper. This is the thing about any house. A relatively minor alteration can completely change the look and feel, and make a home your own.

The grounds and pool brought back memories of a stellar vacation I had at Villa Vignamaggio in the Chianti region of Tuscany years ago. They are a flawless representation of every reason you go to the Tuscan countryside. Three waterfalls created by the vanishing edge of the pool cascade into a water feature on the very private lower courtyard level. I swear you walk out into this oasis, and you’ll think you are in Italy.

Now, about that location! The Creeks of Preston Hollow was developed by Ross Perot’s Hillwood Corporation on 22 acres of heavily wooded land with, of course, a creek. It’s a gated, private community of only 17 luxury estates like this Tuscan villa. And it’s in the middle of what I call the golden triangle of private schools. It’s a five-minute drive to The Hockaday School, Jesuit High School, Ursuline Academy, and the Episcopal School of Dallas. You also have some lovely neighbors — Dirk Nowitzki is a free throw away.

Allie Beth Allman agent Juli Harrison have this beautiful, private 14,940-square-foot Tuscan villa listed for $7.89 million.
