Santa Doesn’t Play Around in the Park Cities, Apparently

Share News:

santaOoof — the things we get messaged or emailed to us. Like this picture of an inflatable Santa, for instance.

If the measure of a good day, as Ice Cube explains, is not having to use your AK, then this Kris Kringle in University Park is having a pretty bad Christmas Eve Eve Eve.

This photo has been making the rounds with neighbors of the house, and not all are fans of this um, leaded version of a Santa inflatable.

So sound off in the comments. Is this all in good, seasonal fun — or is this just a little too sinister for a jolly guy?

The weapon santa is holding is the weapon of choice for mass shooters and was used in shootings like Sutherland Springs, Vegas, Aurora, Pulse and Sandy Hook just to name a few. It’s totally insensitive and inappropriate in our current climate to have a display like this. We have 93 gun deaths each day, so almost everyone is just a degree of separation from gun violence and this is a painful sight to many. Who really wants to explain this to their children? People need to understand that guns are weapons, not toys. This just has zero to do with Christmas and is upsetting to so many people.

Don’t give these shmucks any press! They apparently have such a desperate fragile ego they are begging for attention. Not to mention this is especially the time to be praising the birth of our Savior!
Let’s see some amazing manager scenes.

The lock and load Santa is about as crass, tasteless and insensitive as you can get. Yes, during this joyous season let us all recall the many mass shootings and loss of life we’ve suffered this year. Ho,ho,ho!

    This totally sucks!

  5. K Laine on December 22, 2017 at 5:48 pm

Not cool. If the homeowner lost someone to gun violence they wouldn’t think so either.

  6. Susan Knape on December 22, 2017 at 5:55 pm

Totally inappropriate as this normalizes assault weapons. I hope the city demands removal. Way over the line.

This is a disgusting display of callous disregard for human lives. There is no reason to put that on display, except to be incindiary. I hope these people get the backlash they deserve, and I can’t help but hope that “Scary Santa” springs a leak. Thumbs down, UP.

The constitutional right of freedom of speech prevents the government from silencing people such as these rude, moronic, tasteless homeowners, but it does not prevent the rest of us from telling these homeowners what we think of their display. Let them know how awful they are. Why not publish the address so we can identify the owners?

This is awesome, anyone know where I can get one? And it’s a modern sporting rifle that Santa is holding not an “AK”.

Someone will shoot it, no doubt, and deflate the entire controversy.

Perhaps Ralphie with his BB gun will do the deed…

The NRA has a choke hold on Santa, too, I see! with the slaughter of so many innocent children, women and men (Las Vegas the most recent) this feels like a “so what” to all of those people. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall inherit the earth”.

    This is an embarrassment!

How can anyone think mixing guns with Santa is a good idea? This is awful, sends all the wrong messages, and makes everyone in this city look bad. It’d be great if Dallas wasn’t on the radar because of idiotic and ridiculous displays like this one.

Come on, if you can afford to live near Preston and Northwest Hwy, pay someone to supplement your poor judgment.

The best Christmas display is on Southwestern it’s about the only thing that could make you forget about Gun toting Santa! Maybe the grinch will pop a whole in this display.

  15. Marlee on December 23, 2017 at 9:13 am

Exactly, what does this have to do with Christmas? Santa has always been a magical soul for children. This is representation is no magical soul.

  16. JD on December 23, 2017 at 10:10 am

Pretty awesome!!! Where can I get one?

  17. Sam on December 23, 2017 at 10:39 am

    How absolutely and completely vile!

  18. Karen Eubank on December 23, 2017 at 12:52 pm

I wonder if they have children or grandchildren and if so how they explain this. I also wonder about any company that would manufacture such a thing. I hope the homeowner will chime in and let us know their intent.

Perhaps the dogs being walked down that street will leave a personal “lump of coal” in the yard to express how some of the neighbors feel about it.

Nothing says peace on earth like Santa packing heat….

  21. HO HO NO on December 24, 2017 at 8:19 am

The Santa distracts from the abhorrent neo-fake Italianite villa look.

  22. KH on December 26, 2017 at 1:22 pm

    Absolutely Spectacular!
I need to know where to get 2!
