Splurge vs. Steal: Two Modern Farmhouse Homes with High-end Finishes, Luxe Details | CandysDirt.com

The modern farmhouse look is a huge trend nationwide and it’s showing up in beautiful form all around Dallas.

The North Texas take on modern farmhouse marries a contemporary-transitional design aesthetic with cozy natural elements to create a fresh, clean-lined, cozy feel. Think white or cream-colored exterior, front porch, standing seam metal roof, open floorplan, warm wood accents, sliding doors, and a back porch or patio.

The two houses we’re featuring in today’s Splurge vs. Steal have all these elements and more — they’re excellent examples of the trend done Dallas-style. They’re in different well-known neighborhoods, but the vibes are similar. Which one is your favorite?

Modern farmhouse style goes gorgeous at 4505 Pomona Rd. in Bluffview Estates, where owners have completely reimagined this 1950se into something magical. It was rebuilt and expanded last year and sits on over a third of an acre and everything here is high-end. This home has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, one half bath, a home office, three living areas, two dining areas, and 3,274 square feet on two stories, built in 1950.

The facade fits the style perfectly, with white painted brick, metal roof, prominent front gable, and large slate-tiled porch. Lovely! Inside, the house has a strong contemporary-transitional feel and the floorplan showcases a chic dining room, intimate study with built-ins, and comfortable family room with brick fireplace, French doors, and the hardwoods that carry through the first floor. The fabulous Danby kitchen impresses with marble countertops, an expansive breakfast bar, double-height gray cabinets, and premier appliances. We adore the downstairs master’s bathroom with its frameless glass shower, jetted tub, and incredible marble tile floor. In back, there’s a covered terrace with a brick fireplace overlooking the landscaped backyard grounds.

This home was listed Nov. 21 by Kimberly Calloway with Allie Beth Allman & Associates for $1.549 million.

The curb appeal nails to modern farmhouse look, with two front gables, white vertical siding, a metal roof, and a front porch. The front door opens to a living room with a 54-inch linear gas fire place, hardwood floors, and a large sliding door. This area is open to the kitchen, which features quartz countertops, a breakfast bar, pot filler, and lots of white Shaker-style cabinets. A second living area upstairs leads to the bedrooms, including the master suite with its balcony, dual closets, and a knock-your-socks-off bathroom with freestanding contemporary tub, frameless glass slower, marble tile, and dual sinks. In back, you’ll find a covered patio, mature trees, privacy fence, and storage shed.
