There’s a new four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home in Preston Hollow that brings even more sophistication and style to an already impressive neighborhood. This Desco Fine Homes build has an exterior that harkens back to a Mediterranean villa, which blends seamlessly with the contemporary style waiting for you on the inside. Throughout the 4,700 square feet of luxe interiors there are design details that elevate this house out of the ordinary and into the top of the class.

As you walk in the front door of 6807 Orchid Lane, the two-story living room with stunning fireplace immediately catches your attention. The fireplace is six feet wide and comes decorated with tile nearly the height of the room, making it a glamorous focal point for that part of the house.

The dining room ceiling offers more ornate details to add depth and character to the room. This also helps set the room apart from the other adjacent communal areas so that it feels like its own distinct space.

The kitchen is part of the open plan layout, but hiding within those walls are two pocket doors that can close off the space from the rest of rooms. That cuts down on noises transfer from one room to another in case people want to have a loud television on in one room and quiet conversation in another. The island comes with room to seat at least six people and two in-island sinks, so whoever is doing the meal prep doesn’t have to be excluded from the conversation happening around the island. All the appliances are state of the art.

The same commitment to detail inside the house carries on once you walk outside. One more architectural detail that you can’t see is the steel tornado shelter under the stairway. But a few of the details that you can see are the pool and outdoor kitchen. The pool is the centerpiece of the backyard and, as Desco founder David Goettsche says, “The lot has a pretty good pitch from front to back, but we raised the rear of the whole backyard by about four feet so when you walk out there are no steps to get to the pool.”

This pool comes with a Jacuzzi, fountain features, and is only a few steps from the outdoor kitchen. “The outdoor kitchen is a true kitchen. It’s in cabinetry and you have drawers and all the same kitchen facilities outside as well as inside,” says Goettsche.

That kitchen is under a roof with a large open seating area adjacent to the sliding glass doors, which lead into the living room. It makes that space off of the house a full three-season living area.

If you can’t get enough of this new home from Desco Fine Homes — neither can we! — here are a few more pictures of some of the other rooms in the house. Make sure to check out the water jet in the bathroom that shows off an intricate tile mosaic.
