Enchanted Lakes Traditional Shows Off Affordable Arlington

Everyone in Dallas and Fort Worth is lamenting the end of affordable homes laden with amenities. But have we all forgotten about the Mid-Cities? There are still great deals to be had in Grand Prairie and especially in Arlington, which is where we found this hot, fully updated traditional listed by Coldwell Banker’s Josh Inman

In Arlington, you can get a lot for your money. This location is ideal for those who aren’t tied to a commute, and Enchanted Lakes is a great neighborhood for families. This home, in particular, is a perfect family home, especially if you have middle school-aged children who need a space to call their own. With four bedrooms, three full and one half baths, and more than 4,000 square feet, 3805 Lake Powell has all the space you could possibly want, capped off with a great pool and backyard.

This home isn’t short on style, either, with traditional elements that shine throughout. In the foyer, you’re greeted with wood inlay stone floors, warm neutral paint, and bright white trim. The entry gives way to a formal dining room that is begging for elegant dinner parties with its fireplace and gleaming coffered ceiling, with dramatic chandeliers dangling like jeweled earrings. There’s a soft contemporary influence, too, that is obvious in the sleek stone fireplace and dark espresso hardwood floors.

In the formal living area, which is opposite the formal dining room from the foyer and open to the kitchen and breakfast room, you’ll see even more gleaming coffered ceilings, bright white trim, and dramatic hardwood floors.

I love the subtle separation of space that the twin pony walls, complete with fully lit glass cabinetry, adds to this living/kitchen/breakfast area. It’s the perfect compromise between a chef that wants to be part of the action and a family space that requires some definition.

Bright white trim and cabinetry continues into the kitchen, with a dramatic and oversized eat-in island painted a dove gray. Stainless steel appliances are a given, but we love the contemporary feel of the stainless apron sink and the large windows that let light flood the whole kitchen and breakfast area. There’s plenty of lighting, should your dinner parties run long into the night, thanks to the three pendant fixtures and ample recessed lighting. I would repaint the ceilings, though, as the dark neutral paint makes this otherwise bright space feel much too heavy.

And in case you missed it, just off the kitchen is a full-fledged laundry room complete with its own sink.

The master suite, which is on the first floor, benefitted from new floors and a fresh contemporary feel thanks to the gigantic soaking tub and freestanding shower. New fixtures were brought in, too, with gleaming chrome that offers a bit of jewelry to this outfit.

The other three bedrooms are upstairs, along with two more full baths. Also upstairs is the second living area, which has its own wet bar. It would function well as a hangout for older kids, or a place for sleepovers should you be so brave.

And tucked into the third floor is the media room, which is also a great spot for those loud video games that most parents (me included!) would like to avoid.

If that feels too claustrophobic for you (I don’t blame you), then head outside to the backyard where you’ll find a splendid patio, a great pool, and plenty of grassy lawn for a game of catch.

Inman has this great Arlington traditional listed for $549,000, and it’s no surprise that it’s already under option. However, it’s not said and done until the ink dries at closing, so if this Mid-Cities gem looks like the home for you, get in touch with him!
