6201 Twin Oaks is within walking distance to the new Midtown Pro

Suburb dwellers, rejoice! Boy do I have a deal for you!

If you want all of the posh amenities and open spaces you can get with a new build, but don’t want to go through the tribulations of renovating within the city limits, you’re going to adore this absolutely fabulous 1970s soft contemporary that has been completely redone for today’s buyer. Open spaces? Check! Neutral color palette? Got it! Tons of marble in the master bath? Oh yes!

And the location is fantastic if you’re wanting to cut down on your commute, too, making this home a fine candidate for this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans.

If you need a second to catch your breath, you’re not alone. There was a lot of gasping for air over on this end as this remodel totally took my breath away. I love all of the smooth white walls and clean lines, the dark hardwood floors and the tall windows that all work together to make this home absolutely stunning.

This home packs a lot into its 3,100-square-foot floor plan with three living areas, two dining areas, three bedrooms, three full and one half baths, a gorgeous first-floor master suite, a two-car garage, and two fire places. It’s also in a terrific neighborhood with Richardson ISD schools and backs up to a wooded creek. Alcantara has priced this beauty at 6201 Twin Oaks Circle at $624,900, which is just more than $201 per square foot.

The kitchen, which opens to a breakfast nook or keeping room — you decide which — has a great layout for flow and also connects to the formal dining room. Large windows and double atrium doors look out the the backyard and let in light. Combined with recessed lighting throughout and a skylight, the space feels bright and airy. Stainless steel appliances, engineered stone counters, a subtle tile floor and neutral paint on the cabinets feels warm and contemporary.

But what really sells me is that master suite. The bedroom area looks much larger than 16 x 15, with a separate sitting area, built in desk that can double as a beverage bar, and a beautiful corner fireplace. There are plenty of windows, too, letting in natural light that warms up the space. Of course, I’m not really enchanted by the carpet, but that’s an easy fix. The large walk-in closet with custom closet system will make a buyer’s eyes just sparkle.

The master bath is where the sellers made some really great decisions. Not only did they do a double vanity with plenty of storage and mirror-mounted lighting bars, but they also installed a trendy wet area with double shower and a free-standing tub. The walls are draped in marble and I love the different shade of stone on the far wall, which makes the room feel much larger. The windows in the shower/bath area are a slick addition, too.

The outdoor spaces, which you can access via the living area, the kitchen, and the master bedroom, are fabulous and peaceful. I love the separate fire pit area, and the deck is just wonderful. If you’re so inclined, there’s room for a hot tub, which isn’t a bad idea considering how private the creek lot feels.
