Ikea’s New Furniture Line Could Be a Game-Changer For Staging

One of the biggest hurdles for staging is styling a home with furniture without breaking a bank. Some stagers are able to do this with the client’s existing furniture, but sometimes that’s not possible. Of course, you could rent furniture from any of the myriad stores who have that kind of inventory, but depending on how long the home is on the market, this solution could end up being costly.

But what if there was a way for stagers to put good-looking furniture in a home that not only doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, but assembles without an Allen wrench and a gazillion little screws?

That’s exactly what Ikea has done with their new line. Bonus: It’s super lightweight and still sturdy. Seriously. Watch the video and tell us what you think of the new REGISSÖR line.

LOVE IKEA and this line will be great for home staging. Now, if they would only lease it…

I’ve never found an occupied property where I could not make the sellers furniture work to stage the home. As far as vacant properties go, stagers work on homes in every price range and Ikea is not suitable for all price levels. Furniture for vacant stagings is moved constantly so it has to be sturdy and preferably light weight. So while stagers may add a few pieces from Ikea to their inventory, IF they do stock furniture, I seriously cannot see any stager purchasing Ikea furniture to stage a whole home. Even at their prices it is not cost effective and it’s labor intensive. Warren Buffet knew what he was doing when he bought Cort and started renting out furniture for stagings : )
