PSW is constructing a single-family development in North Oak Cliff called Bishop Heights. Homes will include green features such as solar panels and earth-friendly construction materials. The firm is now planning a similar development in Preston Hollow.

PSW Real Estate — the Austin company that is developing a single-family project in the Kings Highway Conservation District, Bishop Arts, Lovers Lane, and Lake Highlands — has now set its sights on Preston Hollow’s Northaven Trail.

Known for incorporating green building strategies into its single-family developments, PSW’s newest project at 7700 Northaven will hit the City Plan Commission today. The 32-lot development will include home ranging from 1,800 to 2,600 square feet starting at $600K, according to the Preston Hollow Advocate.

The Austin-based firm is known for building around urban amenities, and this particular location makes sense. It has direct access to the trail, and sits right behind the Jewish Community Center and North Haven Gardens while still offering easy access to Central Expressway.

According to information the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association posted online, PSW bought the four acres of property from North Haven Gardens with plans for single-family homes, averaging between 1,800 and 2,600 square feet, costing around $600,000 or more.

PSW also builds with energy-efficient materials — solar panels and the like — with a mission to “promote urban density and conservation, reduce waste and engender social connectivity.”

While it has a nice appearance, it doesn’t seem to fit the existing neighborhood or the price point (?)

Hi Stacey! The homes you are seeing in this rendering are actually referencing the Craftsman style homes we are building at 1600 Kings Hwy and Bishop Heights in North Oak Cliff. Each of our community’s architectural styles are unique and chosen specifically for that area as we have an in-house design/architecture team. The early designs and inspiration for Verbena are looking great and we will be excited to share them with the community as they come together. Feel free to visit our website at http://www.pswrealestate.com to see some of the styles of our existing communities. Or don’t hesitate to give me a call if at 214-299-8700 if you would like to learn more. Thanks!

I love what PSW is doing in Bishop Arts, and I am dying to dig further into this since it is very close to my home! Meridith, we need to get together again!

Green homes…along the power lines?…Brilliant! Let’s see how many fools you can get to pay over $600k for that. Great concept, bad location.
