Cleveland! Pretty Sure the Republicans Have Gone Bonkers

Share News:

Dallas & GOPWord comes that Dallas has lost the GOP Convention in 2016 to Cleveland, Ohio. The reasons are that Ohio is a swing state, and apparently Dallas could not accommodate the GOP’s preferred June, 2016 start date. Seems we have too many other things going on at American Airlines Center,  like the the NBA and NHL playoffs. That means  booked up hotels during the very time the Republicans wanted to take over the city.

Too bad, because the convention would have brought an estimated 50,000 high rollers to Dallas. Many folks could have leased out homes and condos to make a bucketload of money, just as they did during the icy Superbowl. Still, this might keep us from building some crazy last-minute hotels and other madness.

What do you think? Is this a major blow to Dallas? Or are you only too happy to let the GOP dog and pony show take place in the Buckeye state?

Though I’m not entirely a fan of the politics, I think any major convention such as this is only good for Dallas and serves to show how far the city has come.

Though I do wonder what kind of venue(s) Cleveland has to offer that Dallas doesn’t. I mean, Cleveland also has an NBA team, which you would presume would have the same issues with hosting a June convention. So is that to say that Cleveland has two big sized arenas to accommodate? Seems unlikely a city could support two large arenas, especially one that’s no where near even the size of Dallas.

It is so much easier to get here with DFW than it is to get to Cleveland. They are clearly courting the Republican vote. 🙁

First it was the methane mandates to appease the swing states that also are the largest corn growers, now it is Cleveland winning the 2016 GOP convention.

The past week the EPA announced its best and its worst beaches, Cleveland had five beaches on that list.

Have fun at the beach kiddies.
