Mike Modano Sells Mimosa Lane House in Preston Hollow

It took a while, but Mike Modano’s Preston Hollow home at 6424 Mimosa Lane finally found a buyer.

The Dallas Stars legend sold the property for $1,925,000 after reducing the asking price to $2,295,000. The home he bought with then-wife Willa Ford had originally hit the market the previous May, which in hindsight wasn’t an unusually long run for a luxury listing at the time. I still wondered why it took so long to sell such a great home, but then, I totally forgot that, about 14 months ago, we were in this thing called a MAJOR RECESSION.

Listing agent was David Nichols over at Mathews-Nichols, and Dave Perry-Miller agent to the Stars (literally!) Julie Provenzano closed the home for the buyer on March 27. Provenzano is well known for working with several Dallas Stars players over the years, which naturally sparks some curiosity about whether another member of the team might have been the buyer.

Mike’s moved into a new place in Kelsey Square with his second wife, Allison, who is expecting twins.

The Mimosa Lane home is on 0.433 acres and features both sleek stone and hand-scraped wood floors, two staircases, fabulous formals, an oversized kitchen, temperature-controlled wine closet, a master bedroom suite with steam shower, three bedroom suites, a huge exercise room, a gameroom with wet bar and humidor.

Out back, the property turns into a full-blown retreat. The yard includes a putting green, a brick gazebo with fireplace, and a saltwater pool (one of the most beautiful that I’ve seen) that anchors the outdoor living area.
