Staging a Home To Sell With Pets: Does It Help Get The Joint Sold? Dallas Real Estate News

Share News:

Recall our tither about staging a home for sale with our furry friends — to do or not to do, and do we take them to the Dry Bar first? Well, here we see two little peek-a-boo angels who seem to be enhancing these photos. I’m becoming more convinced that I want my dogs in the graphics when I decide to sell my home. And Kristian Peterson agrees!

Wait. Do you think these angels were saying they had to go potty? BTW this is a great town home listing at 4356 Wsetside Drive in West Highland Park at the  Mews Townhomes. Over-sized front entry garden with flagstone patio, back garden with walled water fountain, the cozy interior includes hardwood floors,wood-burning fireplace and ten foot ceilings. Do not have to tell you how secure and wonderfully convenient WHP is to everything, one reason why it is so popular with Baby Boomers, empty nesters and young ones.

I’m so in love with my dog that he is even on my website! And yes, I’m a professional home stager who does not have any major "issues" with designer pooches in the photos of homes for sale. However, there are a few caveats: I believe it depends on the list price of the property AND that the dog should be small in scale as to not leave the idea of potential excess damage or dander left behind. When you’re marketing a house for sale, you’re also selling the LIFESTYLE that goes with it – and I believe you’ll get better traction with buyers of upper end homes (as you feature in your blogs) than you would with those in mid-to-lower end properties because these wealthy buyers probably have / recognize / aspire to own the "designer" dog and can relate to it as a luxury – in comparison to a pit bull resting quietly on the sofa.

Great points, Michelle. I cannot image a pit bull sitting at the top of the stairs looking cute!
