HOUSE PORN: We Love the “F” Word When It’s a San Diego Foreclosure!

Share News:

I LOVE San Diego. It has the perfect climate, best beaches, and friendliest people ever. I found folks who live in San Diego way friendlier — and less crunchy — than the folks of Northern Cali, though I love them, too. San Diego is not so Nancy Pelosi/ crunchy/granola; it appeals to my inner beach bum that is evolving the older I get. Floppy hats, barefoot in the surf, floral casual clothes, Mojitos, my kind of life. We have friends who just bought a home there and I am so mooching! We stayed at this exquisite fractional resort in Rancho Santa Fe — The Villas at Rancho Valencia — last June. Dead serious: first half million I strike, I’m plunking pennies on one of their units. More on The Villas later because lookie what I found: a foreclosure in San Diego!

The baby pictured above: 4193 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, listed for $1,7 in 2006, now $1.3, and I hear it may go as low as $1,095,000. Now if four families bought this home you could have one-quarter of a year — that’s 13 weeks of San Diego per year.

Apparently, when the buyer bought this place for $1.7 million, he plunked down $40,000, but had over $1 million in loans¬†outstanding on other properties. Last list price $1.2 and still no sale. I’m thinking $800K-ish, you?
