These two have got to be the most romantic couple in the world. As you know, Toni Brinker and T. Boone Pickens have been dating, got engaged, and planned a most exclusive wedding for St. Valentine’s Day. The ceremony took place at T. Boone’s Mesa Vista Ranch, a 70,000 acre “Shangri-la” up in the Texas panhandle. Alan Peppard has all the details and photos of the bride and groom AND Mesa Vista:

“The 4:30 p.m. wedding ceremony was held at the ranch’s idyllic chapel that stands in a secluded area on the banks of a small lake. Pickens is the wealthy oracle of energy, philanthropist and natural gas champion. Brinker is the widow of Dallas restaurant entrepreneur Norman Brinker.”

I hear the only way to get up there was by private jet, wonder if Alan got to go! If you will recall, T. Boone has a gorgeous property at 9434 Alva Court that was on the market for $7 million until his beautiful fiancee came into his life. (I have heard there is a million or more in landscaping alone!) Toni Brinker owns the former Neiman Marcus 1998 Showcase house on Strait Lane at North Lindhurst, which was on the market for a bit, a very short bit in January, listed for $5,950,000. Of course, what bride has time to think about selling her home when she’s getting ready to get married?9434-Alva-Ct-exterior 9434-Alva-ct-cabana.png pets

T. Boone seems to be a huge lover of animals, particularly dogs: he has a beautiful tribute to a favored pet in his Alva Court back-yard, and I am loving the dog statutes at Mesa Vista in Alan’s article.

We wish the newlyweds all the happiness in the world!

M-Mansion-exterior M-Mansion-exterior-grassUpdate: the auction has been rescheduled to Sept. 26. Originally, we said September 19.

Dallas is a huge hair town, so you know all about the M Mansion, yes? We certainly do: my son got married in the house and we enjoyed a magically beautiful wedding there last September. Well, I just emailed to tell him he can now move back to Texas and live in the home he was married in: the M Mansion, listed for a year with Rogers Healy for $12 million, is going to be auctioned off September 19 by Concierge Auctions with NO RESERVE.

You know how auctions work, right? If not, click right here.

Concierge, of course, is the New York City based firm dualing with Grand Estates Auction that handled the auctioning of Champ d’Or in Hickory Creek and more recently, a Plano mansion in Kings Gate.

5540 North 40 Place also has one of the best addresses in town. Wouldn’t you just love to give out your digits as “North Forty Place?”

The North Dallas Forty is an enclave of estates off Frankford Road, in between Preston and the tollway, north side. Very wooded, secluded and private. The area has a casual gate and security code to get in, so you get a almost a ranch-y feel. The mansion is owned by Flora Mascolo, widow of designer Guy Mascolo, one of the founders of the Toni & Guy Hair Salon chain, with U.S. operations based in Carrollton.

The 15,074-square-foot mansion has nine-bedrooms, 12-baths and is on 3.29 acres of land, and includes luxe amenities such as an outdoor oasis, multiple gardens (one secret), pool and spa and even an acrylic-fenced soccer field where our wedding was celebrated.

3415 Beverly Drive

The home was built by Ventura Custom Homes, who constructed a notorious Highland Park spec home you may recall at 3415 Beverly Drive. Legend has it Flora and Guy built the home as their dream house, pouring love into every nook and cranny, from the red Baccarat chandelier to the arches, columns, many fireplaces and Juliet-type balconies. M Mansion patio

The French chateau-inspired M estate took seven years to complete. Like anything north of LBJ, you get the world up here: 3.29 wooded acres with a secret garden, fenced soccer field covered in turf, and stone waterfall pool with hidden grotto in the pool. Now I am told there is a hidden grotto, but I never dove in to actually check it out!  Inside there are nine bedrooms, nine baths, powders, offices and wine cellar on the lower level. The home actually has four levels. Ventura is famous for their ground floor/basements: this one has bedrooms, the theater and the bar/wine cellar which came in very handy during the wedding, let me tell you. Plus there’s an outdoor pizza oven and bar and patio oasis with multiple gardens. There is a small fortune here in masonry. I love the cobblestones and stonework, which evokes a Granada- like feel from the very moment you drive up.

There are also several balconies, including the romantic portico where the wedding ceremony took place. Then there’s the Secret Garden in the front where photos are taken in the perfect setting. We had more than 100 people spilled out on the grounds and throughout the house, ohhing and ahhing. The Pennsylvania crowd was blown away, and the Cali crowd salivating. A home like this would list for $30 million plus on the Peninsula.

The Mascolos poured their love into the building of this fine home. Tragically, Guy never got to live in it. The Mascolos have multiple homes, but for years they took great pleasure in leasing their love mansion out for weddings and anniversary parties, any celebration as long as it had to do with love and laughter. It was also leased to high profile celebs during Superbowl XLV.

Now, they say it is time to part with their beloved M Mansion and let another family take over for many more years of romantic, loving M Mmmemories.m mansion kitchenm mansion familyM Mansion fountain
