PlanoTucked in the Plano neighborhood of Bent Tree West, our Saturday Six Hundred this week is a magnificently updated two-story home where seriously, no expense was spared to make it a gorgeous, family ready retreat.

Stager Karen Eubank was brought in by listing agent Susan Gentry of Ebby Halliday – Ebby’s Little White House prior to the sale to give advice on prospective updates, and said that the changes the owner. Thanks to her, we have an idea of how much the updates the owner chose transformed this home at 4411 Highlander Dr.

What we see in the before pictures is a well-built home, but a typical 1980s era home with a need for updates and designer touches that today’s buyers want.

It’s the rare seller that not only realizes what is necessary, but also moves ahead with those updates,” Eubank said. “So, for me it was a delight to work with a seller that shared my vision.” (more…)

Head North to Farmers Branch and Take in this Home's Sweet, Updated Style |

It’s getting hard to find a three- or four-bedroom house in Dallas for under $300K. So we’ve headed to Farmers Branch, where we’ve found a renovated property for well under that mark with lots to offer buyers.

Our Tuesday Two Hundred at 13840 Janwood Ln. sits pretty on a corner lot with attractive curb appeal and an updated interior. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, and 1,975 square feet on two stories, built in 1958.

“I think this is a wonderful opportunity for someone, probably a first-time homebuyer, to get a move-in ready home in a great Farmers Branch location, close to Dallas,” said listing agent Kelley Winsor with Allie Beth Allman. “This house has lots of standout features, like an enormous master bedroom in the second-story addition, which is above the two-car side-entry garage, and a state-of-the-art security system with smartphone control.” (more…)

Considering that yesterday’s Thursday Three Hundred is already under contract, 9544 Crestedge Drive might be my last listing out of Lake Highlands. Seriously, homes are MOVING over there!

I am sure this one won’t be on the market for much longer, considering how immaculate it is. Room after room after room will have you in awe! The kitchen bucks just about every trend out there with limestone countertops and commercial-grade appliances, including a gigantic stainless refrigerator.

The master bath is gorgeous, too, with cerulean mosaic tile in the shower that just pops out at you. It’s a fantastic way to add impact amidst all of the marble and bright sparkling white everywhere else.

The outdoor areas are so amazing, too. You get two meticulously maintained outdoor rooms, including a terrace-like front courtyard with room for lounging and dining, and a back deck that is perfect for early-morning coffee before the rest of the house wakes up.

There is one thing that is kind of perplexing to me, and it’s how much white there is in the home. It’s bright and it’s beautiful, of course, but every time I see a house with tons of white furnishings, I start to think about how many cases of Spot Shot I would need to live there.

Another thing I assume after seeing a home with white couches, carpets, and countertops is that there is no way that the homeowners have kids. But once you see two of the four bedrooms in this house (which has three amazing bathrooms, by the way), you’ll know that yes, kids live there, and they live in style!

So let’s add it all up: 4 bedrooms + 3 bathrooms + 2 outdoor rooms + 1 amazing kitchen x Richardson ISD schools = $589,900 for 9544 Crestedge Dr.

Sounds like a deal to me!
