“It’s just time switch things up,” he said. “I have a wonderful girl down in Austin that I’m very in love with.”

Although the two have mutual friends, it was a New Year’s Eve meeting in Tulum, Mexico, that initially connected them.

“Yeah we’ve just really hit it off,” Belcher said. “Everything’s sweeter with a little risk, so I guess I’ll just take one and move down to Austin.”

But that’s not to say that he’s not going to miss his condo, nestled at the back of a small development but within walking distance to all kinds of uptown amenities.

“I’ll tell you I’m a little bittersweet about it — I’ve lived here in Dallas for 13 years,” he said. “I was born and raised in Fort Worth, so I’m a DFW kid, with the exception of about six or seven years when I was away for college and in Colorado right after.”

The location of this 2,248 square foot, two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath condo was one of the big selling points for Belcher, but the floorplan was an even bigger one.


So, I’m kind of surprised that this house is priced at $1.1 million. There are highrise units that are priced much higher that don’t afford you the space or views that this three-story Uptown townhome has. Truthfully, 4331 Travis St. is perfect for folks who want the modern style of loft living without the elevator ride.

This centrally located home on Travis between Oliver and Lee streets has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and three separate outdoor living spaces, which totals more that 3,500 square feet. There are polished concrete floors throughout and everything else is superbly high-end.

 This home is a great opportunity for a designer to choose furnishings to fit this well-lit, modern space. The kitchen, however, needs no touch-ups. The cabinetry, which is rich and dark, perfectly sets off the sleek stainless appliances. Just outside the kitchen is a balcony, which has a private, tree-house feeling.

The living areas are wide open and perfect for entertaining. With a dividing wall between the kitchen and the living areas, though, you feel a little cut off from the action. Still, the seating area in the kitchen can still accommodate a crowd.

The master bedroom is on the main floor, and has a spacious feel and great views of the small grass-and-gravel backyard.

It’s the master  bath that I absolutely adore. The huge double vanity is a dream, and the separate frameless shower and jetted tub are so beautiful. I love the the homeowners opted for classy frosted glass for the shower, which is a definite plus.

Up, up, up we go to the roof, where you’ll find a green house and a deck with beautiful 360-degree views of the area. This way, you don’t have to choose which direction you face as you would with a condo or a highrise!
