Wylie

“What county is Wylie located in?” Typically I can name off the county pretty easily for most all north Texas cities, but this week’s Suburb Sunday had me stumped. Now I see why. “Wylie is a city and northeastern suburb of Dallas, that was once solely located in Collin County, but now extends into neighboring Dallas and Rockwall Counties,” my friend Wikipedia tells me.

Just like the zig zag of Wylie’s city limits, the city is uniquely served by a variety of school districts. For example, most of Collin County Wylie is served by Wylie ISD, though a small portion is served by Princeton and Plano school districts. For this week’s Suburb Sunday, we land in Las Colinas — a suburb that’s not actually a city at all, but a master-planned community located in the entirety of Irving. Built in the 70s, it was one of the first planned communities in the country, and for a time, one of the largest in the south. Las Colinas is just perfectly located in the hub of the Metroplex, just 10 minutes away from D/FW International Airport. For your perusal, we’ve picked out some lovely homes in three great neighborhoods in the Las Colinas area. Which do you see yourself in?
