We all know and love pro golfer Hunter Mahan, who used to live in the Creeks of Preston Hollow, but sold his home to another well-loved, Dallas-born and raised pro golfer, Jordan Spieth.

Hunter and his family moved to Highland Park. I knew they had built a gorgeous lake house out at Long Cove, our closest heart throb, vacation home nirvana only a couple hours east of Dallas on the deepest, coolest part of Cedar Creek Lake.

Long Cove rocks.

ErinBrideghollow extThis happened last week or maybe while I was in Maine. Surely you know we have another wonderful golfer in town besides that adorable Jordan Spieth, right? His name is Hunter Mahan and he lives in the chi chi gated Creeks of Preston Hollow at 10719 Bridge Hollow Court. I toured his magnificent 16,000 plus square foot home (10,728 plus 6,126 for 12 car garage) and guest house last May. This is the house with the grill room — brilliant concept!

At that time, he had it listed with his builder’s agent, Cameron Holland, of Howell Holland Company, for $9,500,000. His builder was none other than Mark Molthan, who is also building Tony Romo’s house in Glen Abbey. The Mahan’s listing probably expired in May of 2015. (I cannot believe it has already been one year!) On July 27, Hunter listed it with Erin Mathews at Allie Beth Allman & Associates for slightly less: $8,495,000.

Maybe I should say considerably less?

You probably know the story: the golfer fell in love with former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Kandi Mahan of Odessa, Texas, married her and the two hired Mark Molthan to build their dream home in the toney Creeks of Preston Hollow on a $1.7 million lot. It is oh so wonderful!

One thing I do want to tell you: the interiors, which are fantastic, are by Debra Owens. She’s the brains behind the golf-simulator room, the indoor basketball court, and the 12-car underground garage with a full mural of the Augusta National clubhouse on the wall as you drive in. That’s the golf club where the famous Masters tournament is played. (more…)

Golfing hottie Hunter and his bride, former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Kandi  (Harris) are building a 19,000 plus square foot home in an exclusive Preston Hollow gated community. The mega mansion will not only have underground parking, it will have an underground basketball court! Hunter’s home in Colleyville, (pictured here) meantime, remains on the market at $1,499,999. The Colleyville home is just about the value of Hunter’s one-acre lot over there at Royal and Inwood. DCAD has it valued at $1.2 plus just for the dirt. He and Kandi bought it in November of 2010. Estimated taxes are $33,000 for starters… I cannot even begin to think what his property taxes will be one that puppy is complete!
