We love a Prairie-style Craftsman and the historic Winnetka Heights neighborhood in North Oak Cliff is full of them!

We’ve found one for our Thursday Three Hundred at 409 S. Rosemont Ave. has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, and 2,125 square feet on two stories, built in 1923. It has lots of light, a front porch that stretches the width of the house, and beautiful hardwood floors. Rare for a home of this era: it has a 624-square-foot detached two-car garage, added in 2012. Let’s take a look before it flies off the market!

Bart Thrasher is nothing if not honest with his clients. And when Matt Simons wanted to renovate 5235 Vickery Blvd., Thrasher was reluctant to hitch onto the project. The home was in such a sad state that, as Thrasher admitted, it was a better candidate for a teardown. But Simons wouldn’t be dissuaded, and Thrasher, who is not one to back down from a challenge, fully signed on for the stem-to-stern renovation of this charming Vickery Place Craftsman bungalow.

The results speak for themselves, and we couldn’t be happier to call this incredible project our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. It’s a huge success story for Thrasherworks, the design/build firm helmed by Karen and Bart Thrasher that focuses on historic renovation and commercial spaces that inspire. We can’t wait to see what they do next, but first, let’s ogle the results of this completely redone 1923 Craftsman bungalow.

In East Dallas, the neighborhoods with great schools, walkable streets, and adorable houses tend to be the hottest. One such neighborhood that has seen incredible appreciation is Wilshire Heights.

“I live in the neighborhood so I’m particularly partial to it,” says David Griffin & Co. Realtor Sam Claussen. “It’s a quiet neighborhood with an active voluntary homeowners association. While there have been some tear-downs in the neighborhood it seems to have maintained much of it’s original charm from when it was initially conceived.”

If that original charm is what you’re after, you can’t do much better than Claussen’s new listing, which has yet to hit the market. It’s our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans. Plus, if you’re a family looking to get into a great school attendance area, take note! This particular property is in the highly acclaimed Stonewall Jackson Elementary attendance area.

1618-Eastus-Front

“If they could pick this house up and move it to a bigger lot, they would,” says 1618 Eastus Drive listing agent Courtney Tauriac. It was a passion project for them, and everything within this midcentury ranch was hand picked.

So it’s with a tinge of sadness and a whole lot of admiration that we name this 1952-built stunner in East Kessler our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. Thanks to their hard work, we’re pretty sure these sellers will get an offer on this beautiful North Oak Cliff home in a jiffy, so if it’s speaking to you, better call Lisa Peters today to get pre-approved and ready to bid!

It may not catch your eye immediately, but there’s just something about this adorable traditional cottage in Stevens Park Estates. The tidy front lawn, freshly planted flower beds, and colorful dark teal blue front door — it’s an absolute classic.

It just hit the market today, as listing agent Sam Saladino with David Griffin & Company tells me. We’re just pleased as punch to feature it on CandysDirt.com as our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans.

And if you think the exterior of this classic cottage is on point, just wait until you see the bevy of built-ins — a true neat freak’s dream come true — throughout.
