Monday Morning Millionaire: Viva La Vintage! Lakewood Show-Stopper Has History

By Joanna England / August 13, 2012 /

Personal taste is such a funny thing. When it comes to gorgeous homes I can’t afford, I feel like my personal taste swings wildly in all directions, and regardless of how different one house can be from the last luxury love affair, I still picture myself moving in.

With my affinity for Craftsman bungalows, modern architecture, and Texas prairie homes, why, oh why am I in love with 7210 Lakewood? The Clifford Hutsell-designed estate doesn’t even remotely fit into any of these categories, and yet there I am, trying to find a spot for my brass-footed dining table and my reading chair.

By Joanna England / August 6, 2012 /

Now, I don’t live very far from Casa Linda Estates, where I know of at least one homeowner who has a horse or two. The lot’s big enough for a moderately sized arena and a stall. We pass by the house on an almost daily basis.

This home, 6831 Fisher Road, sits on FOUR ACRES (I still can’t believe the lot’s that large!) and has room for six horses. All inside the city limits, too.

Monday Morning Millionaire: Modern Mansion on Ash Bluff is Priced to Move!

By Joanna England / July 16, 2012 /

This home really made me do a double-take. I was scrolling through the pictures and I asked myself, “Self, if you had enough moolah to buy this incredible 6,000-plus-square-foot home, how much do you think it would run?” I was tossing a few numbers around in my head — maybe $3 million, give or take…
