Not surprisingly, the star Dave Perry-Miller & Associates agent and Preston Hollow resident was tapped as a featured real estate expert for HGTV’s Real Estate Intervention. The first airing of the show was Sept. 10, and you can see Provenzano on the next episode, which hits small screens at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 24.

Thursday Three Hundred: Need Space to Spread Out? The Burbs Have it, And For Cheap!

By Joanna England / September 20, 2012 /

Some days I imagine moving to the suburbs. But it’s my love for East Dallas and everything it has to offer (including being about 15 minutes from downtown, a lake, bike trails, great shopping, awesome neighborhoods, etc.) that keeps me urban instead of suburban.

Still, I look at some of the houses and how much home you can get for your money in a place like, oh, say, the Hickory Ridge subdivision of Plano, and I imagine my suburban home, with two SUVs parked in the garage and a golden retriever.

Wishlist Wednesday: I Love This Lakewood 1930s Two Story, But Where Are All The Photos?

By Joanna England / September 19, 2012 /

UPDATE: Scott Carlson himself points out the updated listing in the comments. There are several gorgeous photos of the property! Check them out!

I can’t really call it “House Porn” if there’s only one photo, right? I guess you’ll have to wait for an open house to see the insides of 2605 Winsted, an amazing Art Deco two-story that was built in 1939.

As the listing from our fine friends at Scott Carlson tells us, this home is considered a bona fide Art Deco design, all 3,374 square feet of it. The house, which sits on a little less than half an acre, was listed just yesterday. Considering the view this amazing abode has of Tokalon Park, and it’s proximity to everything everyone loves about Lakewood, I doubt this beauty will be on the market for long.

Tuesday Two Hundred: Live Close to Everything in Kidd Springs For Less Than $200K!

By Joanna England / September 18, 2012 /

Well, the house I was going to feature today got snapped up so fast it made my head spin! Thank goodness I called Jennifer Stolarski of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s to find out from the horse’s mouth that 715 Tenna Loma was optioned just hours before I called her on Monday.

It goes to show just how hot Oak Cliff is that a two-bedroom, one-bath house with a backyard living quarters would get snagged so fast. Stolarski, though, not one to disappoint, said she had another listing in Kidd Springs that was right up our alley — 815 Kidd Springs Drive.

Monday Morning Millionaire: This Cute Caruth Blvd. Traditional is Worth Risking West Nile For!

By Joanna England / September 17, 2012 /

So, with this recent bout of rain we’ve had, here’s your public service announcement: Drain standing water! Prevent death by mosquito!

There, I said it. If you’re willing to throw caution into the wind, here’s a cute house in University Park not far from several very placid lakes that would require teams of pesticide-spraying trucks to clear of mosquitoes. But, 4115 Caruth Blvd., priced at $899,000 and teeming with charm, is worth the scary spectre of West Nile, no?
