Speedy Gonzales, My Fav Cartoon Mouse, Deserves This Beach Vacation Home in Mexico

Speedy Gonzales is one of my all-time favorite cartoon characters. A creation of the genius Mel Blanc, Speedy was touted as the fastest mouse in all of Mexico. He wore a yellow sombrero and a white shirt and pants. Before he took off running he would yell “¡Arriba! ¡Arriba!, ¡Ándale! ¡Ándale!” His red kerchief gave him that Latin flare. Speedy Gonzales is fabulous.

Yes, that’s him. Cheeky little fellow. Speedy always had a smile on his face and a quick retort to his arch enemies, Sylvester the Cat, whom he called “El Gringo Pussygato,” and Daffy Duck, whom he called “the loco duck.” Speedy always got the cheese, the girl, and the best of “El Gringo Pussygato.” What a great name. I may yell that somebody in traffic one day just to give myself a chuckle. I digress.

Now, as luck would have it, I have found the perfect vacation home for Speedy Gonzales. Yes, even the fastest mouse in all of Mexico needs to get away from the grind of embarrassing el pussygato. I have the perfect vacation home for him and it is located in, that’s right, Mexico.

I can think of no better bed placement in the history of staging, beds, or homes. Casa Naila is located in Puertecito, a small community on the coast of Puerto Escondido, the hottest destination in Oaxaca.

Bring on the heat, I say, because look at that view. Speedy Gonzales, that cultural icon dynamo, has earned a view like this one.

Built with materials of rural architecture in Oaxaca such as palm bone, clay, earth, and exposed concrete, this home has two separate views of the ocean. From what I can make out from the description, each hut is its own bedroom and the outdoor community areas are basically like your living room and dining room.

I want to go to there.

Just for grins, here are two photos of the interior. It’s fine, all good. The bedrooms are upstairs where they should be, overlooking the beach and the ocean.

According to the listing agent, the objective behind the design of this home was to have the least amount of impact on the land. Seeing as how Speedy Gonzales always seems to have the maximum impact on his foes, this is perfect for him. There’s only one thing left to say.
