Open Houses This Weekend: Host Next Year’s Super Bowl Shindig in One of These Gems

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us, and there’s nothing better than having all your friends and family under one roof to yell at the referee and criticize the halftime show, right? This week’s selection of open houses offers the best in entertaining, dining, and outdoor space.
According to personal finance website WalletHub, Dallas is the No. 2 largest city for football fans. Pittsburgh and their Steelers top the list. After Cowboys fans, Green Bay’s Packers, Boston’s Patriots, and Kansas City’s Chiefs fans round out the top 5 list.
“Dallas is the second-best city for football fans because it is home to the Dallas Cowboys, the most valuable sports franchise in the world, worth a staggering $10.1 billion,” according to the WalletHub report. “This historic franchise has an 11-figure price tag for a reason: The Cowboys have five Super Bowl titles, tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the second-most all-time. Dallas also has the most NFC East division championships to its name, at 26. As evidenced by their high value, the Dallas Cowboys are still one of the most popular teams in terms of ticket sales and fan engagement despite not having played in a Super Bowl since they last won it all in the 1995-96 season.”

6131 Royalton Drive
Our first pick is a best bet for Super Bowl hosting duties or any large gathering. First things first: This five-bedroom, six-bathroom abode at 6131 Royalton Drive in the elite Preston Hollow neighborhood spans 5,400 square feet. That’s a lot of house.

It also sits on a huge lot with a huge backyard so there’s plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful springtime weather outdoors.

From the listing:
The main level boasts a thoughtful layout, including a grand entry, views of the formal areas with an upper-level catwalk, a spacious kitchen and family room tucked away from front windows, and generous primary and secondary en-suite bedrooms. The upper level, accessible via two separate staircases, features a family room, a cozy loft library, and three additional en-suite bedrooms. The outdoor space is perfect for entertaining, with a covered patio and fans, a grill, a pool with a raised spa, and a large grassy side yard. Also overlooking the pool is a well-appointed living quarters complete with a kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, and an upper-level spacious room ideal for a home office or guest suite.
Central Market is just a short drive away in case you need to re-up the salsa or chicken wings.
Realtor Theresa Austin of Dave Perry-Miller-Park Cities is listing 6131 Royalton Drive for $2 million. An open house is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
8715 Rexford Drive
If you don’t do anything else on this Super Bowl Sunday, stop by the open house at 8715 Rexford Drive in the Bluffview neighborhood near Dallas Love Field.
It’s got four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a swimming pool — but you gotta see this kitchen.

Here are the highlights: A large center island with sink and eating area, five-burner gas cooktop, quartz countertops, double Viking ovens, and tile backsplash overlooking the pool through large windows.
If the kids (or adults, for that matter) aren’t interested in the football game, they can head to the game room or outdoor oasis. The backyard includes a built-in barbecue area, refrigerator, sun deck, and green space for pets.

Realtor Joan Eleazer with Compass RE Texas LLC-Park Cities is listing 8715 Rexford Drive for $1.425 million. An open house is set for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
3737 Cortez Drive
Perhaps 2025 is the year for extra space: a sprawling backyard, an extra bedroom that can be repurposed as a closet, and an inviting kitchen where guests can gather on Super Bowl Sunday or any day of the week.

The six-bedroom, 5,100-square-foot dwelling is nestled in the Bachman-Northwest Highway neighborhood. Details about the Cortez Drive home are scarce as it is a brand-new build with just a few months on the market. What we do know, though, is that guests will love to visit for a party on the patio or a Super Bowl showdown.
Realtor Yulia Burt with VIP Realty is listing 3737 Cortez Drive for $1.85 million. An open house is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.
