Fox Glen Home on 14th Tee Hits the Market for the First Time in 40 Years

Fox Glen

Fox Glen is a gorgeous luxury enclave in Irving, close to Las Colinas, and just 12 miles from downtown Dallas. With 24/7 guards at its gated entry, its winding streets are home to just over 100 unique residences, some of which line the Las Colinas Country Club’s golf course. This community is secure, private, and Dave Perry Miller agent Matthew Edwards says when people move here, they come to stay.

This week’s Highlight Home of the Week, sponsored by Senior Loan Officer Lisa Peters of First Horizon is a particularly special listing in Fox Glen, and we think you’ll agree.

Gracing the 14th tee on the breathtaking Las Colinas golf course, which recently underwent a multi-million dollar transformation, 206 Steeplechase Drive is perfectly placed for stunning views and easy access for golf enthusiasts. Not only does the lot back to the course, but the home sits on 3/4 of an acre for ultimate space and privacy. Edwards says this is one of the larger lots in Fox Glen.

The front yard is vast, with a large driveway to welcome visitors and a lovely walk up to the stunning entry. The home, which has only had one owner in 40 years since it was custom built in 1979, underwent an incredible renovation which included the addition of the foyer and entry. The exterior stucco was completely repaired with updated texture and color, and the original stonework whitewashed. Four patios were added as well for maximum outdoor seating, including this front porch.

The new entryway is spacious and bold, with an iron pivot door.

The open concept floorplan provides ultimate flexibility and maximizes the incredible views and natural light. This stylish wet bar reminds me of a Frank Welch design we looked at in a previous column. That black marbled backsplash is so chic. The cabinetry both in the bar and in the kitchen are custom made.

This is officially my favorite kitchen I’ve seen at CandysDirt.com. I could die a happy culinary death in this kitchen. The design is just breathtaking, from the countertops, to the backsplash, to the wood, and the fixtures. We have Thermador appliances, a wine refrigerator that holds 52 bottles, a GE Sonic ice maker, a remote Vent-a-Hood, and a large hidden walk-in pantry. You know how I love a hidden room.

The dining area is the perfect size to set for small or large groups, with gorgeous views as a backdrop. And I love this cozy recessed sitting area as an alternative to the larger great room. It’s easy to envision gathering after dinner with a beverage next to the fire for some good conversation with friends in this comfortable space.

Speaking of comfort, the primary suite has it in spades. Newly replaced windows and glass doors (throughout) bring your own private patio to this spacious retreat. And the interesting angles of the high ceiling remind you of the architectural detail you find throughout the home. This suite was added to the main level in the renovation. There are two additional bedrooms downstairs.

In the luxe primary bath, find James Martin vanities with quartz counters, a new steam shower, and smart toilet with a remote. The floor is large slab tile for a natural stone look and feel. I hope you notice the attention to light fixtures throughout the home. In addition to the statement chandeliers you find, the home is equipped with all-new LED lighting.

And then there’s the closet. This custom space will make a lovely home for someone’s carefully curated collection of clothes, shoes, and sundries.

The lot is strategically treed to provide privacy while affording views of the course.

The view from the back of the home gives a better idea of the amazing light this home has, and the views from every room.

This Fox Glen home is truly a stunning renovation, and a wonderful find for a luxury buyer looking for a home on an excellent golf course, in a private neighborhood, with easy access to Dallas, DFW, and more.

Dave Perry Miller’s Matthew Edwards has 206 Steeplechase Drive listed for $2.395 million. You can see it at the Open House this Sunday, Feb. 2, from 2-4 p.m.
