If you’re shopping this holiday season for a 31,000-square-foot abode, an indoor bowling alley, or a gated golf community, North Texas has it all. We’ve got celebrities, we’ve got opulence, and we’ve got luxe living down to a science.
The personal finance website WalletHub offered some fun facts about Thanksgiving spending in a report that designated Dallas as the No. 5 location to visit for Turkey Day. Our fair city trailed San Diego, Atlanta, San Francisco, and San Jose.
Here’s what else WalletHub found in its Nov. 12 report.
- $321 – Average person’s spending over the five-day Thanksgiving period.
- 10 Hours – Length of time the average American male would need to spend on the treadmill to burn the 4,500 calories consumed at the average Thanksgiving meal
- $1.2 Billion – Estimated amount Americans spend on Thanksgiving turkeys each year, with 46 million turkeys killed for the holiday.
- $26 Million – Amount of property loss caused by residential building fires each Thanksgiving.
- 61% – Share of people celebrating Thanksgiving who try to avoid having to talk politics at the dinner table.
The report doesn’t mention what North Texans spend on real estate, so we rounded up a few of the area’s highest-priced dwellings, some of which you may have seen before.
1469 Sunshine Lane, Southlake
The $27.5 million abode at 1469 Sunshine Lane, Southlake, has graced this page before as one of the most expensive listings in Texas.

Here’s what we had to say about this stunner back in December 2022.
“There are not enough adjectives for the palatial ridiculously amazing Mediterranean home at 1469 Sunshine Lane, Southlake. It features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms and sits on a 3.62-acre lot. There’s 31,234 square feet of space, y’all. That’s a lot of house.”
Agents with The Hershenberg Group describe the estate with a little more lair in the listing:
Minutes from DFW Airport and Lake Grapevine! Fully automated smart home … offers every amenity imaginable. Palatial living spaces, wine room, grand dining, balconies with panoramic views, multiple interior and exterior chef’s kitchen and a primary king suite suitable for royalty.
A 2024 remodel includes a state of the art soundproof music room designed for Dolby Atmos-3D Audio by an award-winning team of acousiticians and studio designers. Flanked off the garage is a separate apartment offering private space for guests. Basement is a full entertainment complex with basketball court, bowling, gym, elevator, kitchen, and a bar. Feel like you are at a resort in your own backyard with dual staircase leading to the pool, spa, outdoor patio, and more.
Want to host Thanksgiving on the patio? Now’s your chance.
10540 Lennox Lane, Dallas
The $27 million gem at 10540 Lennox Lane has also graced our most expensive listings roundup.
CandysDirt.com took readers inside the Lennox estate in this February edition of Monday Morning Millionaire, noting that Preston Hollow neighbors include Mavericks hoops legend Dirk Nowitzki and Excel Communications founder Kenny Troutt.

From senior columnist Karen Eubank: “The three-story English estate has 17,102 square feet, six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, four powder baths, a media room, two home offices, three game rooms, a solarium, a wine room, a home gym, a catering kitchen, and there are multiple hidden safe rooms. It’s all here. There is no reason to leave home unless you are boarding your plane to go skiing.”
There’s also a pretty impressive bulletproof laundry room and a 1,400-square-foot guest house.
Allie Beth Allman of Allie Beth Allman & Associates has this exclusive English estate at 10540 Lennox Lane, available for $27 million.
811 Tacoma Drive, Allen
The six-bedroom, eight-bath abode at 811 Tacoma Drive, Allen, hasn’t gotten the press it deserves, but that’s likely because it’s a new build and a new listing.

Listed by Clarke Landry with Allie Beth Allman & Associates at $6.75 million, it’s earned its place as one of the most fabulous North Texas homes on the market.
The home was built in 2023 and has only been on the market for about four months. The Italian design is blended with a modern flair in the gated Twin Creeks golf community.
From the listing:
Every sight line in this new construction has stunning elements, artist-designed light fixtures, ceiling-high bookmarked stone fireplaces, walls of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, and a stunning iron one-piece floating curved staircase at the entrance.
Note the kitchen and dining options — both indoors and out by the pool — as you plan your Thanksgiving feast. There’s a lot to be grateful for in North Texas real estate.
