Renovating real estate is not just a job for Ramon Goheen and Robin Barrow; it’s a passion. With Goheen’s deep-rooted interest in architecture and Barrow’s extensive 25-year history in commercial real estate, their shared love for the industry led them to a new venture. After Goheen sold his business, they embarked on a journey of renovating distressed homes.
Goheen was born and raised in Fort Worth which makes an enormous difference when it comes to knowing where to invest. The couple has been renovating real estate for eight years, and their latest endeavor is a historic 1947 traditional cottage in the Ridglea North neighborhood.

For those unfamiliar with Ridglea North, it’s a historic Fort Worth neighborhood centered around Berney Park. Although it was platted in 1928, it really took off a decade later.
During World War II, smaller bungalows were built for families working at the Bomber Plant/Convair or Tarrant Field. In the late 1940s, the Ridglea Addition north of Camp Bowie —now known as Ridglea North— was purchased by Luther Bros. & Wilson Inc., and a resurgence of the building began in this area.

Ridglea North is also conveniently located near the River Crest and Ridglea Country Clubs.
“This home has a walk score of 85 here,” Barrow said. “You can walk to any number of restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and to Berney Park,” Barrow said. It’s also close to I-30, so accessibility is amazing. It’s a small, friendly community, and all of the neighbors know each other.”

Goheen and Barrow’s company, R Home Real Estate, has been renovating real estate for several years now, and their work is gaining recognition. “Ramon has a signature look, where he will open the house up from the kitchen to the living area and add a stained cedar beam as an architectural feature,” Barrow said. “We also like to build out the pantry and use stain to match the beam instead of paint.”

If you know Fort Worth, you will know renovating this home was a brilliant move. It has charm, community, and location, all at a great price.
Barrow has this adorable renovation at 6362 Greenway Rd. listed for $685,000.
Great feature story, Karen! You know your real estate!
