There are a few theories why Realtors use photos of themselves on business cards and in their ads. For starters, it’s about branding. In an ever-growing sea of agents, a familiar face goes a long way to help garner trust.

And then there’s social media, essential in today’s competitive marketplace. According to the National Association of REALTORS, an online presence is the No. 1 source for generating leads.

So, how long has it been since you’ve updated your photo?

“The headshot is a hello. It’s a first impression, and, whether we like it or not, we live in a visual world,” Craig Toron of Toron Photography told WIRED.

Elevate Your Image: Skibell Fine Jewelry’s Complimentary Headshot Session

Lyn Skibell, owner of Skibell Fine Jewelry, is here to help. She’s teamed up with Chicago- and Dallas-based photographer Lori Sapio to offer complimentary professional portraits tomorrow, February 6, at her Preston Center shop.

“The idea started as a way to thank my clients for their continued support,” said Lyn. “But then we thought, what a great way to introduce new people to Skibell Fine Jewelry.”

Here’s how it works. Call the store (214-691-5123) on Monday morning to check availability.

Then show up camera-ready and let Lori – known for her uncanny ability to bring out the best in her subjects – work her magic.

“We’ll have someone on hand to do hair and makeup touch-ups. And of course, the perfect jewelry to complement your outfit,” added Lyn.

Following the shoot, participants will receive either an 8 x 10 print or downloadable digital file.

We’re also guessing you’ll want to do some shopping.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, choose from a swoon-worthy assortment of gifts – for you and a special someone in your life.

Chances are you’ll run into our founder (and long-time Skibell fan) Candy Evans. “I’ve got my list ready,” she laughed.
