According to Irish lore, what fills the eye fills the heart. And this week, we followed the rainbow to a pot o’ gold! We found three fabulous Mid Century Moderns for you to tour, each with eye-catching interiors and designer upgrades to kick off St. Paddy’s Day weekend. Don’t miss your chance and be among the first to see what these green beauties afford.

Green-Door Beauty Reminiscent Of The Emerald Isle

Open house: Friday, March 15, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

For those who love a good Lakewood find, this one’s for you! The three-bedroom, two-full-bathroom gem at 4108 Sperry Street is filled with designer touches. It sits on over a quarter-acre lot with mature trees and greenery reminiscent of the Emerald Isle.

Even better? It offers the perfect spot to sip green beer and celebrate the upcoming holiday. According to the listing, it has a huge entertainer’s porch and rustic fire pit with a step down to an arboretum-style rock path. A gently winding rock bed with private trails beneath a canopy of mature trees rounds out the experience.

It’s listed for $645,000 by Brandon Lucido with Keller Williams Realty Dallas Preston Road.

Fully Upgraded Treasure In Coveted Claremont Park

Open house: Saturday, March 16, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There’s a lot to love about this Claremont cutie! The three-bedroom, two-full-bathroom Mid Century Modern at 8534 Sweetwood Drive has a prime East Dallas address and gracious open floor plan built to entertain. Large windows stream tons of natural light. A brick fireplace adds drama to the den. A gorgeous upgraded kitchen allows you to whip up a meal in style.

There’s even a covered back deck for grilling out this summer. We think it’s perfect for young families or couples looking for a steal.

The price? Phyllis Song with Keller Williams Realty has listed the home for $350,000.

Million Dollar Dream For The Buyer Who Wants It All

Open house: Saturday, March 24, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m

Great things come to those who wait, and although this one won’t be open until March 24th, we couldn’t help but give you a heads up. Built in 1957, this five-bedroom, five-full-bathroom home has since been remodeled with meticulous attention to detail.

It includes an addition, hence the extra bedrooms, but still retains a few of its original Mid Century Modern charms. A stunning white brick exterior meets light and bright interiors filled with designer appointments. These include a generous open floor plan, gray-wash hardwood floors, stainless gourmet kitchen, and a show-stopping master with dual closets and spa-like bath.

Emily Vafa with United Real Estate has listed 10424 Hedgeway Drive for $1,299,500.

While these are certainly mid-century, and they are upgraded to be “modern”, they clearly were not built as MCM. I think it’s important to keep the terminology accurate and not water it down by adding descriptions to something just because it’s popular, don’t you? I’d call these “mid-century ranches” with “modern renovations”, or something like that.

    Please, and thank you!

Is there a way to find homes listed like these that are mid century? I can’t find anything on the usual websites that are even close to my price rang. Or just mid centrury homes that need to be fixed up.

Hi Chelsea. There are some Dallas-area Realtors who have made their business on Midcentury Modern homes, but there’s no real one-stop-shop for MCMs in the area.
