This year’s Holdiay in the Highlands Home Tour features five great homes in Lake Highlands.

From Staff Reports

The Lake Highlands neighborhood in northeast Dallas is filled with charming, creative, and interesting architecture and home design, which is why the Lake Highlands Women’s League created the ‘Holiday in the Highlands’ Home Tour in 1970. This year, the annual home tour and luncheon is set for Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. The homes will be open for viewing from 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. and the luncheon will be served at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Keep reading for a chance to win tickets to this great home tour!

The homes on the tour this year are:

The Madeley home at 9643 Hilldale is a beautiful traditional furnished with family treasures, blue and white accents, and wonderful Christmas collections.  It is set up to entertain adults and grandchildren in style.

The Woodall home at 9265 Cliffmere is filled with European antiques and family pieces.  Everywhere you look there is a story. It is a wonderful blend of formality and family function as the home of three school age children.

The Vaughn home at 10143 Ferndale is a stunning remodel of a 60s ranch-style home.  It is furnished in a vintage neutral traditional style. Three preschool girls bring life and a feminine touch to many of the rooms.

Additionally, tour goers can view the Gisellu home at 8009 Moss Meadow, a stylish contemporary with creative touches everywhere. Every room has been maximized to allow space for two teenage boys and entertaining friends. Don’t miss the David Weekley model home located in the Lake Highlands Town Center, which will also be open to tour guests.

“I am always excited to see the homes on tour decked out in holiday decor. We are so grateful to our home owners, sponsors, members and community who come out to support our neighborhood and get a peek into why we love Lake Highlands so much,” said Debby Gray, Lake Highlands Women’s League president. “I am especially thankful for our home tour committee and co-chairs, Julie Jodie and Cindy Terrell, for their hard work and dedication.”

Tickets are available in advance at www.lhwl.org and are $20 for the home tour and $15 for the luncheon. They are also available at any of the homes or at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ for $25 on the tour day. The LHWL also hosts a market and bake sale from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ on Friday, Dec. 1. Vendors featured in the market offer unique craft, gift and food items. Admission to the vendor market and bake sale is free.
