Christie’s @properties Lone Star Takes Us Inside This Iconic Fort Worth Midcentury Modern

Originally designed in 1957 by renowned architect Jack Schutts, 2100 Indian Creek is more than a listing — it’s an architectural landmark. This five-bedroom, nine-bathroom, 9,878-square-foot Midcentury Modern home attracts attention from outlets throughout the state. A staple of the illustrious Westover Hills enclave, this home tells a unique story rooted in authenticity and reimagined through uninhibited artistry.

Now, North Texas’s leading luxury agency, Christie’s International Real Estate @properties Lone Star, is opening the home and telling the story. In anticipation of a broker’s open on Tuesday, May 5, we reached out to the architect behind its total transformation. Thankfully, this is one project he remembers very well.

“While I do not have any formal ranking of my projects, I can quickly say that in my 40-some odd years of practicing architecture, it is one of only two residential projects I considered a true collaboration with the client, where passionate dialogue about design directions shaped the project and resulted in a much better design than had those conversations not occurred,” said Ames Fender AIA, Principal of Fender|Andrade Architects.

Ames was approached in 2007 to enhance and expand the property into the stunning home that it is today. Of course, a project of this magnitude not only requires expert design skills but also a deep reverence for the home’s heritage.

“First and foremost, we had a commitment to honor the original architect and the original building. We also had a deep respect for the relationship between the site and its surroundings,” said Fender. “Therefore, we responded to the site in the only way we knew how to. This meant blurring the lines between the interior and exterior spaces.”

Originally, the client approached Fender to update the swimming pool and cabana and add much-needed bedrooms and garage space. However, once the project commenced, conversations with the owner opened up a broader exploration of possibilities.

“It’s difficult to find a client with the vision, taste, and budget to pull something like this off,” said Fender. “But this was one of those rare instances where all three came together. The client had a willingness to put his money where his mouth is. Whenever we threw out a bold and expensive idea, such as the glass bridge or the cantilevered pool with a glass wall, he said yes and said not to cut corners.”

Of course, the result is a living work of art that reflects artistic ambition, architectural heritage, and harmony with nature. It’s a must-see for any design enthusiast.

“There’s a difference between a luxury home and a legacy property, and this is firmly the latter,” said Jerry W. Mooty Jr. “From its architectural roots to the scale of its transformation, this is the kind of home people talk about long after they’ve seen it.”

On May 5, listing agent Nicole Horton and CEO/principal, Jerry W. Mooty Jr. of Christie’s @properties Lone Star will host a rare glimpse inside this iconic Midcentury Modern home.

“At this price point, you can’t replicate this level of quality, design, history, and presence,” said Nicole Horton. “It’s not just the design, it’s the execution. The materials, the risk-taking, the willingness to push boundaries, this is a level of vision that’s incredibly difficult to achieve today.”

To see this home for yourself, RSVP to the broker’s open by contacting Nicole Horton at 817.903.2111.

Nicole Horton and Jerry. W. Mooty Jr. with Christie’s @properties Lone Star list 2100 Indian Creek Drive for $5.495 million.
