Enchanting Westcliff Cottage Ticks All the Right Boxes

I probably don’t need to tell that it’s tough out there but, with inventory at near all time lows, I needed two hours to suss out something special in one of our favorite Fort Worth neighborhoods. Here in the heart of Westcliff, on Westcliff Road West, in fact, is an oh, so easy to love, 2,400 square foot, adorable three-bedroom, two-and-one-half bath cottage.
Within easy walking distance of TCU, the 1937 build radiates curb appeal beginning with the stone walkway leading from the street through the verdant landscape to the brick bungalow enlivened by kelly green shutters and front door.

A shallow vestibule leads to the spacious living room, brightened by symmetrical, near floor to ceiling, twelve light windows. Walls are painted cool teal with the original, appealing, built-in shelves which frame the fireplace painted in cream. Impeccable hardwoods run throughout the house.

The dining room is smallish but with its architectural elements, including millwork, dado, and built in hutches, it presents an easy opportunity for a decor upgrade. Think two-tone scheme with a rich color palette.
The kitchen is ideally placed, connecting to the dining room, informal living area, and outdoors. Check out the large double ovens. The cooktop is induction, loved by some, except gas cooktop die-hards like me. The fireplace is gas and I’m willing to bet there is a gas hook-up hiding in those kitchen walls.

The casual comfortable sitting room boasts handsome beamed ceilings and shiplap walls. The terra cotta floors and abundant fenestration give the room a light garden room feel.
Two of the bedrooms are at ground level, including the roomy primary suite.

A large room has been carved out of former attic space. Now used as an additional bedroom, the area could easily convert to an office or home gym.

At back is a masonry patio decked out in the homeowners’ favorite green.
Mary Cole of RE/MAX Trinity has priced 3241 Westcliff Road W at $899,000.
