Texas is a big draw for celebrities because it offers privacy, peace, and space — lots of space. The old saying that everything is bigger in Texas could not be more true when you look at real estate. Whether you want to hang your hat in a classic mansion or an uber-cool, sleek Riverhills Modern, like this stunner, we’ve got you covered.

The other big draw for celebs is that Texans frankly don’t jaw-drop over them. We have had big stars wandering our streets for decades, so now they barely cause a head to turn. Our most recent arrivals are Yolanda and Bella Hadid. They took up the reins on properties in and around Fort Worth. Yolanda, you might know, is the mother of supermodels Bella and Gigi Hadid. Yolanda is also known for her former role on  “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Both ladies are devoted equestrians and have cottoned to the cowboy chic lifestyle you can only get in Fort Worth. So doesn’t it make sense Gigi would follow in their footsteps?

I just don’t see her as a cowboy chic gal, however, so I think this Riverhills Modern might pique her interest. Located in the prestigious Edwards Ranch in the Riverhills Addition, it has plenty of space, sitting on an acre with 7,998 square feet, four bedrooms, and six-and-a-half bathrooms. Of course, it has the luxury home requisites, including a home gym with a sauna, a theater, and a 1,200-bottle hidden wine room.

Believe it or not, this is a spec home. Only in Texas would you have the cojones to build an almost $17 million spec home. But when you look at the facts, people in the luxury market have zero time to wait on a build. They want a move-in ready home and if they can buy the furniture, so much the better.

The Riverhills Residence was designed to celebrate the panoramic view to the west. Compositionally we took inspiration from the profiles of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House and merged these with a U-shaped form that embeds itself in the steep hillside. The result is a low-slung street facade that establishes an appropriately scaled contextual relationship to the neighboring homes. To the west the house expands to two levels, looking externally to the views and internally to the lower level court and pool. We wanted the architecture to maximize opportunities for indoor-outdoor living through shaded balconies and patios integrated throughout the building. The plan is organized to be resident-centric on the internal court through openness and transparency, while the exterior facing facades are composed to retain privacy.

Architect Amy Leveno Principal of Official

Trenton Laird, owner of The Construction Group, is responsible for this Riverhills Modern. It took a year of planning and over two years of construction. Laird brought in award-winning architects Mark and Amy Leveno, principals at Official, to bring his vision to life. Considering both Laird and the Levenos have experience in commercial construction, you can imagine how that benefits their residential projects. Laird wanted to create a home that was over and above anything on the market today.

“If you liken it to cars, most luxury homes on the market are built at a Cadillac level. We are building at a  Bugatti level,” Laird said. “We wanted something unique and with high-end craftsmanship that fit the Texas vernacular.”

Laird spared no expense on the home, treating his spec as a custom build. He used Quantum Windows and Doors, installed a Bulthaup kitchen, and used Signature Illumination for the lighting package. Bonnick Landscaping did an incredible job, especially with the dramatic rear hillside installations. The home also has a UV water filtration system. Everything you can imagine is state-of-the-art.
