Dallas Residents Can Pick up a Free Doghouse From Dallas Animal Services May 21

Dog owners in Dallas can snag a free doghouse at the Dallas Animal Services headquarters from 4 to 7 p.m. May 21. The free doghouses are available thanks to McKesson and the Texas Humane Legislation Network in celebration of the SAFE Outdoor Dogs Act.
According to City of Dallas code, dogs that spend a significant amount of time outdoors during the day must be provided with adequate food, water, and shelter. To help meet one of those needs, Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN) will provide free doghouses from the McKesson Foundatioin for anyone who needs an outdoor shelter for their dog.
Need a rooftop for your pooch? The Dallas Animal Services headquarters is at 1818 North Westmoreland Road. Proof of Dallas residency is required.

That’s awesome! I use to volunteer for THLN. They are an awesome organization and I truly believe in all that they do and continue to do for animal rights in Texas. I also worked for McKesson for 27 years. I really wish they were more harsher penalties for owners of dogs who do not treat there animals well. I daily put water for the dog next door because he does not receive water. He has a dog house but does not go into it, but maybe he needs to be shown what’s it for.
Thank you so much for giving that sweet pooch water. I literally cannot think of how neglected (and abused) some animals are, it is truly mind boggling and pierces my heart. If you are not going to love and care for an animal, don’t get one! Please make sure he/she gets enough water daily… thank you, bless you.

I know of someone who really would like to get one for her sorry neighbor who leaves dog out all types of weather , she feeds and waters when they don’t bother , it’s very sad , we are working on everything but it’s a process to get this baby in a better place but we try to do what we can legally and What we can get away with but we are unable to get him shelter if anybody can provide a dog house we can take it to that neighbor and keep working on getting him out of there. I’ve been trying to build him one since I found out everything but it’s gonna take a little longer than expected and I wanna make sure that it’s warm or at least good insulation in the cold already getting here please help
