White Rock West Condominiums — sound familiar? Not so much. How about that sign though? YEP. I’ve driven by it hundreds of times, as it’s just across Northwest Highway from the White Rock DART station and a hop and skip to White Rock Lake.

The sign is relatively unremarkable — you know, versus a flashy neon sign or something with a little gold-plated pop. It looks like an 8th-grade woodshop was assigned to make it. The colors were picked by the instructor, a confirmed bachelor with two-thirds of a missing pinky finger. He suggested black and beige, insisting that you can’t go wrong with that combo.

I’m milking this intro because once you peek inside this condo, there’s no turning back. Jaws will drop, “What the …” will be muttered. It’s so unexpected. I liken it to that Saturday Night Live car sketch The Chameleon – you just don’t see it coming.

White Rock West Condominiums: Elevation Station

After I saw this unit in White Rock West Condominiums, I was like, “Are all of these this good?” After a quick search, I realized no sir, they are not. But if you miss out on this one and decide you HAVE to live there, now you know what’s possible.

Just real quick on this one — are you freaking kidding me? The bathrooms are a level of perfection you don’t normally see in homes of this period. Let alone one that’s listed under $400,000. The big, chunky Carrera marble-looking vanity, mosaic black tile, and backlit circular mirror WITH the faucet and handles in the wall? That’s just dreams, people. Then they added a flat-front, floor-to-ceiling linen cabinet? Dang.

Chock Full of Custom Details

The galley kitchen is simple and classic – and I think it might even be Ikea. It’s the accents and the way it’s put together that make it feel super custom. A waterfall Carrera-look countertop encases the matte black cabinets paired with white cabinet uppers. Top it off with one spot of open shelving, modern fixtures, and brass pulls. That’s how you elevate a kitchen no matter what your budget.

The entire first floor is tiled, which makes sense because a) it looks good, b) it’s low maintenance, and c) this condo is currently a rental. It’s the perfect pick.

The other showstopper on the first floor? That fireplace. They took full advantage of the vaulted ceilings and ran gorgeous tile all the way up. It draws the eye up and that’s when you see the modern three-blade ceiling fan.

Upstairs the flooring is an engineered hardwood, the bathroom is fantastic, the rooms are generous, and there’s a balcony off the primary.

Local Pro Realty’s Nakeisha Smith has 7498 E. Northwest Highway, Unit 149 listed for $375,000. It just hit the MLS though it is not open to showings right now, there’s an open house scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6
