You Can Own The North Dallas Home With The Laundry Room That Went Viral

There are certain rooms in a home that we’d all like to hide from guests, and the laundry room is probably at the top of everyone’s list. Who wants to have a panic attack wondering if a visitor has seen what’s hanging up on the drying rack? No one, that’s who.

But this listing from Loren Hall of Compass Real Estate went viral on TikTok because it has the most genius solution — a camouflaged door that neatly hides away anything unsightly. It’s just one of the brilliant updates on this week’s Highlight Home of The Week sponsored by Senior Loan Officer Lisa Peters of First Horizon.

Richardson Schools, Dallas Address

Besides the epic laundry room disguise — more on that later — this listing has a “sought-after” location inside the Brentfield Elementary attendance area, Hall said.

“While still maintaining a ‘Dallas address,’ you are able to attend a nationally ranked school in Richardson ISD, making this area one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in North Dallas,” she said.

Second on the list of reasons why this home is a fabulous buy is the build quality achieved by the sellers. They’re a husband-and-wife team that has been in the business for more than 20 years.

“I always say the wife designs and the husband makes it happen,” Hall joked. “She truly is a visionary and he ensures the bones of the home are always sturdy.”

More than sturdy, they are exacting. The build quality they brought to this 1975-built ranch is something you don’t see often.

“They are both perfectionists — quality is at the core of what they do,” Hall added. “Feedback for every home they have completed has been that no one has ever seen quality like this.”

The Laundry Room is Just The Beginning

Every room in the home speaks to that ideal, but the one that caught the internet’s attention was the laundry room.

The laundry room door was done when the sellers renovated the kitchen, and they did an amazing job of disguising it. Along with the kitchen, the sellers replastered the pool, redid the big flex room upstairs, and did we mention the primary suite?

“This developer is known for their ‘WOW’ bathrooms and closets,” Hall said. “Anytime I have shown the closet or bathroom, I am met with starstruck eyes and amazement. This primary truly takes your breath away.”

We have to agree, right down to the European-style wet area complete with double showers. If that’s not the absolute vision of luxury, the enormous closet complete with seated makeup vanity might be. It’s the kind of detail that really elevates a listing.

“The sellers truly took their time with this home,” Hall said. “I always say they took a 1970s home and made it 2024. The home has brand-new hardwood floors throughout, custom cabinetry, new countertops, a complete set of Bertazonni appliances, new French drains, a complete landscape package … the list goes on.”

It’s the kind of listing that takes “move-in ready” and turns it into “plug and play” or “ready to live,” allowing buyers to come in and arrange furniture and enjoy.

“Instead of being tasked with updating a home yourself, this team has done that for you all the while ensuring the bones of your home including foundation, plumbing, roof, water heaters, pools, (those really expensive items) are solid, have been properly addressed, and are good to go,” Hall said. “It’s the best of both worlds!”

Loren Hall with Compass Real Estate has listed 16818 Park Hill Dr. for $1.15 million.
