DART Expands, Making Getting Around to These North Texas Neighborhoods Easier for Homeowners

Oh my gosh. Let me uncurl my white knuckles from the steering wheel to write this. And maybe breathe, after the near sideswipe on Interstate 35. Then there was that guy who laid on his horn just because I dared to engage my blinker to turn left. I’m so sorry, sir, that you had to wait two seconds.

Has anyone noticed traffic these days in North Texas? It ain’t great.

Meanwhile, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has made an announcement. Beginning this week, it expanded service in some Dallas areas. How about a standing ovation for some traffic relief?

This week DART has expanded its zone-to-zone pilot program for GoLink, an on-demand service providing curb-to-curb “microtansit service.”  The service is already operating in multiple areas including such far-flung areas as Farmers Branch, the Park Cities, Lake Highlands, Glenn Heights, and South Irving. According to DART’s website, the service is already popular in Plano.

The three new areas include:

• North Dallas
• Rylie/Kleberg
• Eastern

Well, can we get a hallelujah and an amen, too? I haven’t tried any of these myself, but I applaud any attempt to make traveling the highways and byways around North Texas more pleasant and more efficient.
