It’s a Barbie world and we’re just living in it. Need proof? Google searches for Barbiecore are up a whopping 980 percent; Pinterest mood boards, 1,290 percent. And with Barbie’s much-publicized movie premiere just days away, our obsession with the iconic doll continues its surge.

Malibu Dreamin’ with Airbnb

Case in point: You can even vacation in the real-life Malibu Dreamhouse. Barbie’s beachfront home in Malibu is back on Airbnb – but this time, Ken’s hosting. He is offering two lucky winners an overnight stay in the newly revamped pink palace.

“We all have dreams, and Barbie is lucky enough to have a house full of them. But now, it’s my turn, and I can’t wait to host guests inside these one-of-a-kind — dare I say, one-of-a-Ken —digs,” he reportedly told Airbnb, which holds the listing. Amenities include an outdoor disco dance floor, fully equipped gym, and huge rectangular pool.

HGTV Challenges Designers to ‘Barbify’ a Home

More of a Do-It-Yourselfer? Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge makes it debut tomorrow night on HGTV. Eight teams of designers compete to transform a Southern California property into a space inspired by the Dreamhouse’s storied 60-year history.

Barbie in a Blender Art Show

A 1997 lawsuit over an image of — you guessed it — Barbie in a blender was all the inspiration Daum Gallery owner Taylor Daum needed to conceive this thought-provoking exhibition. “I had a full-body goose bump moment. It’s always been my vision to have fun; to breathe life into the Dallas Design District.”

Works by local artists offer “a take on Barbie you haven’t seen yet.” (Think rhinestone encrusted, covered in bubble gum, basking in the afterglow.) “The whole blender concept is a commentary on feminism,” says Daum, whose art also appears in the show.

Events are scheduled for Thursday, July 27 and Saturday, July 29; RSVPs are encouraged.
