Open Houses of The Week: Modern Home Choices Reflect On-the-Run Lifestyles

Share News:

With so many countertops being eye-catching, design-inspiring surfaces, it’s no wonder loads of today’s homes highlight eat-in dining as a selling point.

Many real estate listings tout an “eat-in kitchen” which often translates to a countertop or island with some stylish bar stools pulled up. Casual lifestyles, quick bites, and on-the-run existences have made such designs a much-wanted feature. Casual seating at the edge of a counter can be a great solution to accommodate space challenges, too.

Marble, quartz, faux marble, quartzite, and other materials in a rainbow of colors are part of the trend for countertops, but the seating can’t be forgotten. The bar stool can bring a modern vibe or traditional aesthetic, and either way, offer a pop of color into the mix.

We’ve got a few examples to show. This edition of CandysDirt.com Open Houses of the Week features a current design strategy as one option buyers are looking for today.

7419 Robin Road, Dallas

Check out the latest and the greatest in this new home at 7419 Robin Road, Dallas.

The oversized kitchen island has a sink on one side and seating for four on the opposite. Those dining at the oversized quartz waterfall island will enjoy a view of the European-style cabinets and a 48-inch Italian range.

There’s room for four at this waterfall counter.

This 4,632-square-foot home is packed with other amenities, too. Pass through the entry to a six-bedroom, five-bath home with an open floor plan. It includes two first-floor bedrooms and an office. A contemporary vapor fireplace is the focal point of the elegant living room.

The luxurious primary suite shows what the updated version of a spa-like retreat could be — a walk-in closet attached to the laundry and a frameless, oversized shower.

A modern vapor fireplace is the center of this living area.
This Dallas two-story was completed this year.

The backyard is made for an entertaining lifestyle. The oversized yard, with space to add a pool, boasts an outdoor kitchen and covered patio. All this comes within walking distance of Inwood Village.

Price tag? This new abode is listed at $1,925,000.

Listing agent Yulia Burt with VIP Realty is hosting open houses from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

3505 Cheval Blanc Drive, Colleyville

This Colleyville home’s exterior, with its sleek black-and-white palette, is the first clue of the modern perks that abound. The waterfall kitchen island with seating for four is just one of the 4,324 square-foot home’s many amenities.

This white island faces a custom backsplash and seats four.

The open floor plan at 3505 Cheval Blanc Drive features custom details, vaulted ceilings, a private courtyard, large windows, and a three-car, insulated garage.

Downstairs are a luxurious owners’ suite, a second ensuite bathroom, an office, and a chef’s kitchen with an oversized pantry and stainless steel appliances.

Found on a corner lot in the gated community of Creekside at Colleyville, the house was constructed in 2021 and sits close to shopping, restaurants, and Highway 121. Another location advantage is that frequent fliers will like how handy it is to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. It’s priced at $1.3 million.

High ceilings allow banks of windows to flood the home with natural light.

This house, listed by Minaz Adtani with REKonnection, will be open from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

4642 Coles Manor Place, No. 103, Dallas

Two pendants literally spotlight the breakfast bar of this condominium at 4642 Coles Manor Place, built in 2022.

With dining spots for three, this modern kitchen is bright and white and ready for life on the go.

Being on the go certainly will be easy in this home by Dallas Construction 1 and Parma Designs, and that East Dallas location is why. It’s just blocks away from Central Expressway and easy drives to Uptown, Downtown, and Lower Greenville.

A four-story unit, the condo contains two bedrooms, two full baths, and one half-bath in its 1,562 square feet.

The details are on trend with the clean-lined open-concept kitchen, custom Italian cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and that three-seater countertop. Throughout there are oversized windows, black hardware, and luxury vinyl flooring.

The streamlined, modern residence is designed for a contemporary lifestyle or could even be an investment opportunity at $560,000. Adding to the condo’s cool factor? There’s a rooftop patio as part of the deal.

Realtor Melanie Till with Meyer Group Real Estate is hosting open houses from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and again on July 15.

I say take this “on-the run life-style” all the way in a full-on OG Dallas manner. Just skip the table AND counter-top and choke it down in your car a la Bonnie and Clyde. Vroom vroom!
