If I ever come across a Dallas trivia contest the first thing I am doing is claiming Dave Perry-Miller Realtor Kyle Rovinsky as my partner. The second thing I am doing is calling my bookie in Vegas and putting every dime I own on us to win it all. The third thing I am doing is ordering a refreshing beverage with a little umbrella and letting Kyle answer all the questions.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rovinsky last week as he took a group of summer associates from the prestigious law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP on a bus tour of Dallas and its different neighborhoods.

Love of Dallas And History Makes a Great Bus Tour Guide

Complete with a 23-page tour book, the three-hour bus tour took us all over Dallas while Rovinsky explained the difference between the neighborhoods not only in terms of cost but also in terms of style and character. Those are things Rovinsky knows really well because Rovinsky knows Dallas.

“We wanted our summer associates to see as many different Dallas neighborhoods as possible. Most of them are from other cities, so this was an opportunity for them to start thinking about where they might be interested in living,” said Michael Newman, managing partner of the Dallas office of Foley & Lardner LLP.

“There’s nothing I love more than Dallas,” Rovinsky said. “I am just a nerd for Dallas history.”

In order for the future Dallasites to remember the highlights of each neighborhood, Rovinsky provided little informational facts about each area as well as where that neighborhood is located in relation to their place of employment.

Rovinsky Gives Overview of City and Neighborhood Details

Along with an overview of each neighborhood, Rovinsky also provided little details on what the potential home buyers will love about each neighborhood and the state of the market.

As we cruised along each neighborhood, Rovinsky was able to drop some Dallas history or history on homes located in that particular neighborhood.

“I love knowing the historical significance of homes,” Rovinsky said. His vast knowledge of Dallas is also due to the fact that both sets of his grandparents lived in Dallas from the 1920s, so he grew up visiting, seeing, and living in all parts of Dallas.

Whether it is knowing where to find the best burger, how Nieman Marcus came into existence, or that you can still play a round of golf at Stevens Park Golf Course for $20, Rovinsky is a sensational resource for newcomers who are looking to make Dallas home.

“An important part of Foley’s internship program is selling Dallas to them. We want to make sure they end up here,” Newman said. “Kyle did a great job selling the City of Dallas.”

“I see this as a community service,” Rovinsky said. “I love to teach new people about my city.”

All that is left for me to do is find that Dallas trivia contest and then I will just watch the money roll in as Rovinsky takes care of the rest.

LOVED this posting. What a great idea for a company to take the extra effort to show their potential new employees all that Dallas has to offer.
