Someone once told me that you weren’t really playing in the big leagues if you couldn’t shift through all five gears of your standard sports car on the drive to your house, which is why I chose the above for my first image of 405 Canyon Creek Drive.

This property, which was built this year and on the market for one day, has so much that is unique. However, undeniably, its most appealing attribute is the 3.5 acres of verdant land on which the house is sited.

The structure, constructed of stucco and wood with a metal roof and 42 windows, looks stark and modern, but take a closer look and the layout starts to look familiar. The one-story spread is essentially a modern take on the classic midcentury ranch genre. The four-bedroom, four-and-one-half-bath house also has a fairly traditional, modest footprint of less than 3,800 square feet.

It seems that I’m featuring a lot of open-concept floor plans lately. Well, I can be brought around if a case is forcefully made. It’s definitely a lifestyle choice, as the floor plan allows multiple uninterrupted sight lines of all public spaces.

The multitude of aforementioned windows, including ceiling-level clerestory windows, offer abundant light. The highly polished concrete floors, reminiscent of fine marble, give the interiors a cool modern richness.

Another fillip — the house comes fully furnished. Fixtures are appropriately modern. And appliances are of the highest quality consistent with a listing of this caliber, including a Thermador gas cooktop, double oven, column refrigerator and freezer, microwave, wine cooler, and dishwasher.

The primary suite is supersized with a full five-piece bath and an extensive closet system. The bath features near floor-to-ceiling strié quartz.

In another bath, mirrors float on boldly patterned quartz. The beautifully finished walnut vanity manages to be both retro and modern.

Windows and terraces take advantage of the stunning views. Located in Woodhaven Country Club Estates, the cul-de-sac acreage with two creeks feels like a private oasis with nary a neighbor in sight.

The house features many extras, including a Sonos sound system, tankless water heater, Dazuma exterior lighting, and a backup generator. The garage accommodates three cars.
