This Bob Ross Fan’s House Puts The Pain in Painting
Share News:

I put it before all of you, the owner of the home featured in this week’s column was secretly in love with Bob Ross. I mean completely and totally, head over heels in love with Bob. This was a deep and abiding love. A love that bordered on obsession.
Now I know what you are thinking “Bob Ross, the painting dude with the fro?”
Yes, that Bob Ross. The “guru with a paintbrush” was the host of The Joy of Painting on PBS. It was here that our homeowner fell in love with Bob and that love, like all obsessions, went a little too far.
So where exactly did this deep unabiding love go off the rails? Let us take a look together.
Happy Little Trees?

This happy little kitchen is located at 6455 N. 4400 W, Cedar City, Utah. Along with this most patriotic paint scheme, the home has five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is 3,454 square feet in size. It sits on 1.25 acres and the owner is asking $699K.
In the listing, the agent wrote “No HOA! Animal Rights!” I get advertising no HOA but animal rights? I could not help but chuckle. Along with loving Bob Ross they also love animals. I digress.

I wanted you to have a better look at the hand-painted stars or starfish— you decide. This is just the warm-up. Are you ready to see what love led this homeowner to do?

Yeah baby! Twenty-foot ceiling equals a 20-foot canvas in your living room, not to mention the painted ceiling.

I wish we had a better view of the ceiling. I cannot tell if those are constellations or waves and sailboats or what.
No Mistakes, Just Happy Accidents

Animal Rights!

You know who else enjoyed painting cabins? Bob Ross. This homeowner loves Bob so much it is just awful. Not as awful as those plastic plants but it is pretty close.

It is appropriate they put a fainting couch in front of the mural of what looks to be the house, maybe. You know it is always a good idea to have something soft to land on should you see something that causes you to pass out.
In Love With a Masterpiece
The master bath is no doubt a tribute to the homeowner’s love for Bob.

You see, Bob Ross loved painting trees. I can just imagine the homeowner lounging in the tub, looking at their trees and thinking of Bob and how in love they are with Bob and the trees. And before anyone says anything about the flamingo. I love flamingos. The flamingo is the best part of the bathroom. If I ever get a bathroom larger than a broom closet I will have a flamingo in there.
Yes Bob, it is a masterpiece.
Here is hoping everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day and that someone is so in love with you that they will let you paint murals throughout your home. Take us out, Bob.

I enjoy your articles a lot of insight
Thank you so much for the read. I hope you have a great week.
Ma cherie Mimi,
Grand Central Station’s restored ceiling mural of constellations was clearly the inspiration for this living room ceiling, which brilliantly includes images of civilian airship balloons.
And the fainting couch? An ersatz recamier a la Duncan Phyfe. Tres gauche!
