There’s so much going on this holiday season, it’s hard to imagine that anyone could find time for house hunting.

For those who have just a little extra time to squeeze in an open house, we found a few that might be worth your while.

After checking out an energy-efficient home in Old Mill Court, a 1930s-era duplex in the heart of Dallas, and a stunning new build in Mansfield ISD, hit up one of the many events in Dallas-Fort Worth on Saturday, Dec.17.

Christmas in the Park at Fair Park is set for 8:30 a.m. There’s also the Hope for Christmas Toy Drive in Grand Prairie, and Christmas in the Branch at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Forget Stocking Stuffers. This Home Has Solar Panels.

The home at 3127 Alicia Circle is on a private cul-de-sac in the Old Mill Court neighborhood.

Built in 1998, the $475,000 actually does look brand new, with an open-concept kitchen and living room for entertaining. There’s a breakfast bar in the kitchen, an island with built-in cabinets, and granite tile countertops.

“This home has been well-cared for, and it shows,” states the listing for the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home.

The master bedroom is updated with wood floors, dual sinks, granite countertops, a separate garden tub and shower, and a custom closet. The interior was repainted in 2020, and this energy-efficient home features solar panels, a rare find in North Texas.

The home is in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and just a hop, skip, and a sleigh ride away from Christmas in the Branch, an annual free event from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Grove at Mustang Station. Enjoy the outdoor marketplace with local vendors, ice skating, and photos with Santa.

Realtor Holly Pryor with North Texas Top Team Realtors is hosting an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.

Historic Duplex

This property at 4111 Prescott Ave. is impressive, not just because it’s a rare 1930 duplex with two stacked spacious units, but it’s in an ideal location and begging for some visionary investors or ambitious remodelers to take control.

Listed at $849,000, the picturesque home includes two units for a total of four bedrooms and two baths. Each unit has been taken down to the studs and is waiting for the buyer to finish out the units to their liking.

The downstairs unit features a front porch, while the upstairs has a balcony perfect for a morning cup of coffee. Exterior updates completed in 2018 include new roof and gutters and a fresh coat of paint.

It’s just seven miles from Fair Park, which is exploding with activity this holiday season. Be sure to catch the 24th annual Christmas in the Park event all day Saturday in support of the S.M. Wright Foundation
