The halls were decked Monday at the grand opening of MetroTex Association of Realtors’ new 30,000-square-foot headquarters building on Kinwest Parkway in Irving.

Almost five years in the making, the celebration was an opportunity to show off the office space for about 50 MetroTex employees and meeting rooms for the association’s members.

MetroTex president Bill Jordan greets guests.

“We’re very excited to start launching our programs from here,” MetroTex board president Taylor Walcik told CandysDirt.com. “It took us a while to get the visioning process going back in 2018. The renderings came back pretty quickly, and we’re on budget and on time.”

Designers with BokaPowell, architects with Muckleroy & Falls, and project manager Jessica Steel with The Projects Group were on hand for the celebration.

“It’s a 10-acre site surrounded by federally-protected natural wetlands,” Steel said.

MetroTex Association of Realtors Event And Training Space

Rooms in the two-story building are named after Texas wildflowers, explained Ginny Haralson, chief strategy and HR officer for MetroTex.

“We were really intentional about the space,” she said.

MetroTex accountant Evelyn Villalon was still putting in work during the grand opening celebration.

There’s a sizeable convention center-style event space with a capacity for up to 200, offices, and classrooms for MLS instruction and training. Wellness rooms are designated for those who need to take a break or make a private phone call. Balconies surround the building and Realtors can stop in the store for signs and marketing materials.

“It’s an incredible facility that our members will benefit from for years to come,” Walcik said.

MetroTex represents more than 27,000 members in all aspects of the real estate industry. Members and guests were treated Monday to building tours, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a champagne toast to celebrate the new facility.

I was at the event, and it was great to see so many familiar faces. MetroTex did a great job at site selection, design and overseeing the completion of this facility, which was years in the making. We are one of the largest associations in the U.S., and this facility is a fitting place for us to meet, learn and utilize the association’s resources. Thank you to MetroTex and its leadership team for making this happen!
