This Highlands North Home Defines Style and Sophistication

North of downtown Dallas between US-75 and the Dallas North Tollway, the Highlands North neighborhood exemplifies suburban charm. Here, tree-lined streets stretch across a landscape of classic American architecture and unmistakable North Dallas character. Beyond the quaint neighborhoods and cul-de-sacs within this community, a diverse assortment of dining options and shopping experiences draw attention from around the metroplex.

For this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week, sponsored by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans, we’re excited to feature an incredible home within this neighborhood. Loren Hall of Compass has 16509 Dundrennan Lane listed for $869,900. This stunning 3,004-square-foot, five-bedroom, three-bathroom beauty features distinct style at every turn.

One thing I love about this home is the windowless front-facing façade. The white brick exterior complemented with natural wood elements gives it a midcentury feel that is truly unique.

However, the real wow factor kicks in upon entry. Just past a beautiful glass door, a stunning marble-clad foyer stands like a monument to style.  Here, dual skylights draw auras of natural light and sleek wood flooring sets the tone for a contemporary experience.

Then, the living room is open and inviting. With high-paned windows and an inescapable view, this room creates an atmosphere of serenity and style. Also, the fireplace makes for a stunning focal point.

Beyond the living room, you’ll find two dining areas. A formal dining room with a built-in buffet sits adjacent to the kitchen. Then, a charming breakfast nook looks out over a beautiful backyard view.

The chef’s kitchen was imagined for ultimate entertainment experiences. It features stainless steel appliances, a sleek electric range, and a beautiful backsplash. Also, dual bars make give this home even more eat-in options.

Then, the master bedroom is as expansive as it is elegant. With vaulted ceilings and a neighborhood view, this room is the perfect place to relax.

The master bathroom is jaw-dropping. Here, you’re overwhelmed with oversized marble slab tiling and enamored by the modern design. An elegant soaking tub and an enormous walk-in shower sit at one end of this retreat. Then, dual vanities with wood cabinetry round out this expertly curated space.

The other rooms and bathrooms in this home are just as inviting. They all seamlessly unfold with the flow of this home, each design complementing the next.

Also, this home features a spectacular sitting room that can be used as a living area or office. The versatility of this home makes it great for growing families.

Then, the backyard makes for an amazing outdoor escape. Also, with a covered patio and tons of room to roam, this area is perfect for pets, children, and entertaining.

If you’re in the market for a modern home with an immaculate design, this Highlands North gem might be right up your alley.

This house is way north of downtown.

This house is not ‘just north of downtown’. It’s a great property but you need to correct the location. It’s well north of 635.

Just north of LBJ isn’t just north of downtown.

@Barbara, came here to say the same thing. 14 miles north of downtown, to be exact, or at least 30-40 minutes in rush hour.

“Just north of downtown” ends at about Knox-Henderson in my book.

The windowless front facade is interesting. There is a house in my 1970s-era first-ring suburb without windows in the front and I’ve always thought it looked odd. But it has a fantastic view out the back windows and is on a large lot so I guess that makes up for it!

This home, without windows in the front, looks great but I think the lack of windows would appeal to a narrower buyer pool. The wide entry with lots of glass certainly adds light that might be lacking otherwise. It seems to work!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! The story has been updated to more accurately reflect the home’s location.

Thanks for sharing this post I like this brick black splash post because the beauty of a brick backsplash in the kitchen is that it is timeless, functional, and visually charming. It’s also easy to clean! brick backsplash

As a resident of the Highlands North neighborhood since 2018, I have to say I really LOVE it here. For all the people saying it’s too far north, at least it’s not Allen, McKinney, or out in the boonies! All the benefits of living in Dallas without the parking and traffic problems. I love that we can be just about anywhere around Dallas in about 30 min.
