Lights, Camera, Agent: Will Koberg Lands Role of a Lifetime Selling Homes for Keller Williams

Actor and Realtor Will Koberg has been building his IMDB profile with TV credits and selling luxury Dallas real estate for more than a decade, but what really brings him joy is his family.

In a recent interview with CandysDirt.com, we wanted to hear about his roles on shows such as “True Detective” and “NCIS: New Orleans,” but he was dead-set on making sure we knew that his wife, Becky, who is a registered nurse, has her Realtor’s license too. 

“She actually did better on the test than I did,” he says with pride. 

Originally from San Antonio, Koberg, 45, worked as a sportscaster at Ole Miss, then went into corporate sales. He’s worked for the Dallas Mavericks and managed a Campisi’s Italian restaurant. 

He scored bit parts in a 2008 episode of “America’s Most Wanted” and in the 2010 DC Comics film Jonah Hex, then got his real estate license in 2012. 

“I was passionate about doing something that was relationship based,” he said. “Rogers Healy is a friend of mine. I thought I could incorporate some TV into real estate, making YouTube videos of my listings.” 

For Will Koberg, a Light Went on

Koberg says he wasn’t the man he is today until Becky got pregnant with their first child, daughter Lakyn, 10 years ago. 

“I was going to an audition, and my wife Becky, by the grace of God, was pregnant,” Koberg said. “I thought this would be the last audition because we were having a baby. That responsibility kind of slapped me in the face.”

It wasn’t the last audition. 

“A light went on,” the actor said. “I got parts on ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ and The Lone Ranger. It was also around this time that I started getting my real estate business going.” 

Koberg built a good rapport with some casting agents and continues to do auditions in his garage.

It was Koberg’s stint on the 2019 TNT dramedy “Claws” that got him recognized recently when he was out with other Realtors at Top Golf. 

“There was this guy who said I looked familiar,” Koberg said. “Then he was like, ‘Were you on ‘Claws’?’ This was a Niecy Nash show about a Florida nail salon. It was pretty funny.” 

Now with two kids — the Kobergs added Liam to the family six years ago — Will works as a full-time real estate agent and started his own team with Keller Williams in 2021. Becky is also listed as a member of the Koberg Group, but Will said his wife’s calling is helping others is in the medical field. She recently launched her own mobile IV therapy business, Elevated Wellness Frisco.

And while he’s succeeding as a real estate agent, Will Koberg hasn’t stopped acting. He recently shot a basketball drama series based on the book “The Crossover” by Kwame Alexander. Koberg plays Coach Ace Howard in the Disney+ show, produced by Alexander, George Tillman, Damani Johnson, and NBA legend LeBron James. It’s set for release in March. 

“It’s a good family show,” Koberg said. 

You Gotta Have Faith

Will Koberg is a guy who’s always on, enthusiastic, and energetic about everything he does. 

It’s not an act, he says. 

“I put God first,” he said. “I teach my kids to keep their priorities straight and don’t be afraid to try anything.” 

He says he finds strength in prayer and reading scripture in the mornings. He practices yoga and says his acting skills go hand in hand with being a good Realtor. 

“It’s such a people business,” he said. “To be a good actor, you have to personalize situations. When I’m playing Coach Ace Howard I’m personalizing the kids like I’m talking to my own.”

High energy is also needed for both careers, Koberg added. He works with Dallas-based acting coach Michele Condrey of The Michele Condrey Studio/R.E.A.C.T.

“When I’m listing homes or selling homes, I don’t get nervous no matter how big the deal is,” he said. “Treat everybody great, and positive things happen. Look to God and rock and roll.” 

With nearly 1,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, Koberg gets in front of a camera at least once a week to build his brand and show off his luxury listings. He’s also writing a faith-based film.

“We’ll see what happens,” he said. “It takes the pressure off when you just do the best you can do and let your talent take over. Give it to God. He gave you the gifts. I’m going to fail and mess up, but I’m not afraid of that because God’s got me.”
