The Tron House

I can safely say you’ve never seen anything like the Tron House. It boldly goes where no house has gone before. Wrong movie, but you get it.

The Tron House

The 2010 film Tron: Legacy is about the son of a virtual world designer who goes looking for his father and ends up in a world that his father designed.

… father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe.

This dystopian world was the inspiration for Michael Shaun Jackson Acquiesce to create a home like no other in Dallas. The futuristic house was completed in fall 2020, in the midst of another dystopian world, the pandemic. Perfect timing as there is little need to ever leave the Tron Home. It has everything and quite a bit more.

The Tron House

The creator and his wife, Andrea, a software engineer, never planned to move, so they spared no expense and indulged their wildest creative imaginations. Michael is in the construction business and loves exotic cars, as showcased by the living room’s design. One of the walls incorporates the three-car garage and offers a clear view of his Ferraris.

Of course, that’s only one feature. Book-matched porcelain slabs over the fireplace are reminiscent of a Rorschach inkblot test. I see Darth Vadar. What do you see? The other jaw-drop feature is a 75-inch Sony television that ascends from the floor. Note the serpentine custom sofa designed for the room. Most of the furniture is custom designed.

The home office overlooks the show garage.
The Tron House

The Tron House kitchen design is taken from the film’s hovering vehicle known as the Recognizer. In addition to furniture designed by Michael, you’ll find Murano glass chandeliers, Italian porcelain floors, a 1980s speakeasy with turquoise tufted walls, zebra print carpet, pinball machines, and a Versace-inspired principal suite. But, of course, the bathroom is what will keep everyone buzzing. There is a floating vanity. LED lighting and a tub surrounded with fire glass. Press a button, and the walls around the toilet become opaque for privacy.

The Tron House
The Tron House has 4,853 square feet, with three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The fun does not stop when you head outside. There is a Ferrari-themed dining space with bright yellow chairs and an equally bright sofa — a sunken conversation pit with a fireplace and a television in a faux hedge.

As much as they love their unique Tron House, creating it gave Michael the drive to do it again. We cannot wait to see which movie inspires his next build!

The house is in Elm Thicket-Northpark, a historic neighborhood undergoing gentrification in a big way. Josh Nimo is constructing a three-story contemporary next door, and another modern build is in process across the street. While this is a home for a specific buyer, Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s listing agent Pogir Pogir said he already has people flying into Dallas to see the Tron House. “The whole house is an immersive experience,” Pogir said.

Pogir has the Tron House at 5025 Wateka Drive listed for $3.96 million.

That is without a doubt the worst house I’ve ever seen – online or in person. You weren’t kidding that it will take a specific buyer.

This is ridiculous. As big as Texas is why would you build a house this large in a small family oriented neighborhood. Why not purchase some acres and build. Inwood has plenty of acres for sale. Better yet just cross over Mockingbird and build in Highland Park. Please leave our neighborhood along.

This house characteristic as beautiful as it is do not fit into the Community that it chose to build in. That’s why the community is fighting so hard for the zoning change. This is a good example from the size to the price. It is texting homeowners that have lived here their whole life out of their homes. As well as stealing inheritance from those that parents die and leave them a house. Some parents died thinking that their children will be okay. Instead they have been hit with high taxes that they can’t afford. They are taxing people into homelessness. This used to be a safe neighborhood it’s not anymore some of everything is wrong roaming through the neighborhood now.

Homes like the one at 5025 Wateka, does not belong in our neighborhood..what were the developers and everyone involved thinking . This is a longer standing neighborhood and to be invaded by monstrous homes just doesn’t work!!!!

As gaudy as the outside is, with those embellishments (that I’m sure means nothing to most potential buyers!) I’m sure no one is surprised by what lurks inside this out of place monstrosity in this Historical Neighborhood! What were the intention of the builder is my question?????? Hope the neighbors have extremely tall fences!

Drive up all the elderly that have lived in this neighborhood taxes with this extremely big house that should’ve been built elsewhere. Dallas you’ve failed your citizens in a big way. Money is the driven cause I forgot Dallas don’t care about nobody but lining it’s bank accounts with poor & middle class money (DCADS) due to the rich building and gentrifying neighborhoods across the city!!!

This gaudy, over the top house sits in the middle of a family neighborhood! It’s ridiculously ugly and very out of place! Don’t buy it!

I’m a third generation legacy of the North Park/Elm Thicket neighborhood and I do not want monstrous structures of this nature inside my community. Those of us with existing homes in the area have absolutely no privacy in our backyards due to these eyesores looming over into our backyards. The lack of respect builders afford established home owners is non existent. Your home is supposed to be an oasis of peace but ever since the McMansion invasion, peace is no longer attainable.

  9. Love on September 19, 2022 at 12:05 pm

Horrible!!!! Unbelievable you would build a home like this next to the traditional home the neighborhood

  10. Myrna Dartson on September 19, 2022 at 3:19 pm

This is utterly ridiculous! Monstrosities such as this one do not belong in our neighborhood. Why not purchase land elsewhere and build a community of eye sores? Structures such as these destroy the quality of life for the neighbors. Elm Thicket/Northpark is an established neighborhood, and this gaudy building in no way fits the style or character of our neighborhood. This is why the Elm Thicket/ Northpark neighborhood supports the proposed zoning changes. Support for the zoning changes will prevent obscene home such as this from being constructed along side cottage homes.

Homes like this have no place in this neighborhood… Go to Highland Park!!! Elm Thicket/Northpark has always been a neighborhood of affordable workforce housing. This home makes the neighborhood very unaffordable for those that have been there for decades. Save Elm Thicket!

  12. Sonya McHenry on September 22, 2022 at 7:07 pm

Such an eyesore. Save Elm Thicket from any more of this nonsense please. It does not belong in an established neighborhood such as ours. Support zoning changes.

  13. Alma Love Langrum on September 25, 2022 at 12:13 pm

Money Money Money! That’s what driving all this nonsense
Developers have destroyed this neighborhood. Sadly it’s not going to stop because the city want the revenue. Shame on the City of Dallas

This is a shame that you would come over into a well established neighborhood where people have raised their families in and build this big house that looks like a museum and there is Highland Patk where you could have build this house, such a waste of building material on such a small block!

  15. Sarah McKenny on September 27, 2022 at 8:02 pm

As a neighbor just a few hundred yards away, I can say first hand that homes of this size on our smaller lots destroy the quality of life for their neighbors. This house is ridiculously out of place in this neighborhood and its builders seem to have no respect or empathy for their neighbors.

  16. Billy Ray on September 28, 2022 at 9:57 am

This house looks like a$$. no way anyone will pay more than $2 mill in this neighborhood for this eye sore. Whoever designed this monstrosity needs to be shot.

  17. CJ Carpenter on October 2, 2022 at 10:03 pm

Can’t wait to read about the people that buy this thing!

  18. Billy Ray on October 5, 2022 at 2:21 pm

Today is October 5th. Zillow says this home has been on the market for 19 days. Let’s see how long this junk sits on the market and at what price they finally offload it for.
