Luxury Living at Less Than $1 Million in This Week’s Open House Roundup

Share News:

While inventory is up, home prices in some areas are still on the rise. That just means there are plenty of options for families that need a lot of space and a Dallas ZIP code in this week’s Open House Roundup.

The median home price in Dallas-Fort Worth is about $426,000, up almost $100,000 from this time last year according to a RE/MAX National Housing Report issued in June. Dallas buyers know they’re going to pay a pretty penny, but they also get a lot of house and a ton of amenities if they’re willing to open their wallets.

The homes open for tours this weekend are above the median price range but still come in at less than $1 million, with all the lavish luxury of an opulent Dallas mansion. All three featured homes have dropped in price since they’ve been on the market.

Oakleaf Road

This Prestonwood palace at 6219 Oakleaf Road is stacked with amenities spread out across 4,000 square feet.

The custom home was built in 1979 and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Beautiful landscaping surrounds the property, which features hardwood floors, his-and-hers vanities in the master bath, and two living areas with a wet bar in between. A third living area exits to a cozy back patio. The kitchen has a gas cooktop, center island, buffet, and granite counters. Upstairs bedrooms have walk-in closets and built-in desks.

Updates include a new patio door, new windows, a new air-conditioning unit, and a new water heater. The roof was replaced in 2019. A generator provides backup during power outages.

Listed at $925,000, the home also features a Texas-sized pool. Homeowners’ association fees are under $100 and include 24-hour security. The area is zoned for Richardson ISD

Realtor Sharon Kaiser brokered by Simplified Real Estate is hosting an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

Davenport Road

A stunning ranch-style home in North Dallas is also on display this weekend.

The three-bedroom, three-and-one-half bath abode at 17309 Davenport Road has a pool and a koi pond — and that’s just on the outside.

The interior of this $725,000 home features a formal dining room with tons of natural light, a brick fireplace in the formal living room, and an eat-in kitchen.

The primary ensuite has a soaking tub, walk-in shower, private window, and skylight.

Step outside and watch the kids play from the covered porch. Recently installed solar panels are energy-efficient and cost-effective.

Kids in the area attend Richardson ISD schools.

Derek Trail

Over in Plano ISD’s Bent Tree neighborhood is this bright, open floor plan at 6003 Derek Drive

With four bedrooms and three-and-one-half bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for the whole family. The $699,000 corner-lot home was built in 1988 and features a grand, formal dining room, cozy fireplace, wood floors, and upgrades galore. The eat-in kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and an island in the rear of the home overlooking a landscaped backyard.

The primary ensuite features separate vanities, a huge walk-in shower, and a double-sided fireplace.

The second floor has a bonus family room and a second laundry room.

The backyard is shaded by mature trees and is a short walk from a community pool, tennis courts, and hiking trails.

I don’t know whether to show my buyers or put in an offer myself!
