A Lakewood Spec Home Done Right

This week’s Inwood Home of the Week, sponsored by Inwood National Bank, is a “look but don’t touch” scenario — kind of. The gorgeous new custom at 6954 Coronado Ave., listed by Compass RE Texas‘s Michelle Hopson, is already pending contract. Hopson, whom I swear has sold half the homes in the C Streets, says it moved quickly.

“Even though we’re starting to see a few less multiple-offer scenarios, this home really resonated with people,” Hopson says. “We received multiple offers very quickly after it went on the market last week.”

Location was no doubt a factor here. The home is zoned for top-notch Lakewood Elementary, and Lindsley Park, the YMCA, and White Rock Lake are all close by. But the home’s wow factor comes courtesy of its builder, Gramercy Custom Homes — a relative newcomer to Dallas home builders.

“This home is truly a level up for a spec home,” Hopson says.

If you’ve driven around Lakewood, you’ve no doubt spotted more than a few coming soon signs on Gramercy’s new builds. The boutique residential builder focuses on Lakewood, where the company’s founders, a husband-and-wife team, live themselves.

Hopson says this five-bedroom home resonated with buyers who were impressed with the luxe finish-out and attention to detail.

“They’re the most detail-oriented builder I’ve ever seen,” Hopson says.

Kitchen pantry

The light and bright open concept family, kitchen, and dining spaces provide a definitive custom-home feel with quartz countertops, commercial appliances, prep pantry, and beautiful white oak design accents.

The attention to detail is evident everywhere from the aforementioned kitchen prep pantry to the laundry room and enviable primary closet. All the cabinets are soft close with smart, varied sizes and shapes for different types of storage.

Upstairs flex space could be a game room, gym, or second office.

Upstairs offers three secondary bedrooms each with distinctly-designed ensuite baths. A private hallway leads to the owner’s retreat with a spacious and tranquil primary bathroom and closet with his and hers built-in dressers. The downstairs fifth bedroom is perfect for visitors and the ensuite bath provides flexibility for a future pool bath. (Gramercy includes complete pool plans with all their homes.)

Hopson brought in George Bass Stage and Design to do the staging and as a result, the home really comes together.

Enjoy outdoor living on the large, covered patio with built-in grill and fridge.

Michelle Hopson of Compass RE Texas listed 6954 Coronado Ave., which is now pending contract, for $2.095 million.
