5411 Surrey Circle

Six of the 10 most expensive active listings in the state of Texas are in — you guessed it — Big D.

From a $24.5 million eight-bedroom on Surrey Circle to a $10 million castle in Roxbury Park, these homes are big, bold, and buyer-ready.

The four homes not in the Dallas area include:

  • 4002 Tyx Trail, Spicewood, Travis County, $13.5 million
  • 1210 Bruton Springs Road, Austin, Travis County, $13 million
  • 325 West Friar Tuck Lane, Houston, Harris County, $12.75 million
  • 1904 Lauranne Lane, Austin, Travis County, $12.5 million

Surrey Circle

Get lost in this massive mansion at 5411 Surrey Circle. You’ll feel like you’re staying at a luxury hotel – if you stay in the kind of hotels that have a wine cellar, an infinity pool, an elevator, and a five-car garage.

You read that right.

This 15,918-square-foot estate sits on 3.25 acres and boasts eight bedrooms and eight-and-one-half bathrooms. It was built in 1972 with a carriage house added on in 2014 and 2015.

We featured this property just last month, but it’s certainly worth taking another look. You’ll be stunned by the full apartment on the first floor and award-winning interior design.

“The main home is a composition of spaces that progress from street level to creek level, with interior finishes that are a mix of sophisticated materials – cool limestone, warm walnut, white maple, stainless steel, and more,” states the listing.

Priced at $24.5 million, it tops the ranks of the most expensive active listings in the Lone Star State.

Realtor Joan Eleazer of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty is listing the home.

Hathaway Street

Next up in the ridiculously expensive homes of Dallas is 9520 Hathaway Street, in Old Preston Hollow’s appropriately-named Venetian neighborhood.

At $14.9 million, this six-bedroom stunner has stuff you never even thought you wanted, much less needed.

Special features include a 30-foot ceiling in the grand entrance, 11 bathrooms, a three-story refrigerated wine room, a gourmet kitchen, and a spa room. Oh yeah, there are three staircases, four kitchens, and four ice makers. Take that, summer heat.

There are 16,000 square feet of space in this home, so social distancing from your own relatives shouldn’t be a problem.

Rheims Place

For those who need a mere five bedrooms and a half-acre lot, this palace at 4350 Rheims Place, Highland Park, might be more your speed.

The $12.25 million home was meticulously designed by architect Richard Drummond Davis.

The picturesque white structure with to-die-for landscaping will draw you in before you’ve even stepped inside. The open floor plan features natural light and luxury finishes throughout, with a second master suite upstairs, heated marble floors, custom-built closets with glass doors, an elevator, and a soundproof movie theater.

Of course, there’s a home gym, professionally-insulated wine cellar, and a temperature-controlled pool and hot tub with a waterfall feature. If you’re in the market for an in-ground trampoline, there’s one of those, too.

Edlen Drive

Brand new construction at 5414 Edlen Drive in Old Preston Hollow also makes the cut of the state’s most expensive active listings.

With six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a five-car garage, this is “go big or go home” at its finest.
